I was always a little mixed on Ditko, until I started editing together recaps of his comics and having to pay attention to the panels. No-one draws hands like Ditko, and his clothing work is spectacular.
Good video, on a side note, Ditko did all the inking on that series. As far as lines getting thicker, that may be due to reprinting, as Marvel always made new stats from the old stats whenever they reprinted a book, don't know why. If you look at an original copy, it may look different.
Ditko was a comic book genius. All that wordy stuff you aligned with him was Stan Lee as lee was a hack and frustrated prose writer. Those issues in the 30's that you talk about were written by Ditko due to him and Lee falling out until Ditko walked away. His two main creations for marvel, Spiderman and Dr Strange, are the two most unique and interesting creatings Marvel had in the 60's, yes, even above Kirbys brilliant contributions. Ditkos charcaters were weird, almost pop horror characters, his take on Spiderman/Peter Parker was the most unique version in both drawn design and writting, flawed, frustrated, errie, human, and the rough edges that made him so interesting have been smoothed down over the years and were lost pretty much the moment he left. Ditko defined 90% of what is most important and remembered about the character with most of it being done within a few pages in Amazing Fantasy 15.
Steve Ditko brought life to Spider-Man,John Romita made him Iconic
@@osiawideman4851 stay tuned for the next episode 😉
Can’t question the genius of a design that can’t be duplicated or changed to make better for 60 plus years.
Steve Dikto for me is the true creator of Spidey...

Yes!! He really has a style you gotta dive into for full enjoyment!
I grew up reading these books in the 70s and still have them...that issue with spidey and doc strange was mindblowing for me back then. 😂
@@willcarr9401 that’s amazing! I’m glad to hear you still have that part of history!
