I am so blown away by this! I was 6 years old when "Duel" aired on TV. My dad was a huge truck fanatic so I fondly remember watching it with him on our first color TV set. It scared the crap out of me! Even though I was scared I was still saddened to see the truck get destroyed at the end. I guess my love of vintage vehicles had already started at a young age! Thanks for your hard work in making this. I wish my dad was still around so I could show to him too. Miss you Dad!

So, I have just driven from Plymouth to The Lake District in the UK for a family holiday. I have unpacked my bags, got the wifi on for the kids, checked my youtube and seen your video come up. Is the truck from Duel still at the bottom of the cliff? This is exactly what I have always wondered since I was a kid. I'm now going to let the wife get the bags out of the car herself while I sit back and watch your video. I can't help myself, wish me luck with the wife later!

I grew up in this area in the 60's. Seeing the movie in 1971 it was so cool seeing areas I have actually been at. I still live in the area and my son lives about 5 minutes away from the cliffs, which is off Vasquez Canyon Road in Saugus, CA. I drove by there the other day and there was production crews at the site. They do shoot a lot of commercials at that site.

A lot of people I've hiked this there have said "oh yeah, no problem, we can do that in an hour" thinking it was only about a 1/4 mile away. Yeah. It's 1/4 mile as the crow flies but we're not damn crows. It's about a mile of up and down ground travel.

I'm glad you talked to the landowner. At least someone would be able to tell the authorities where to find your bodies.

Duel is a fantastic example of how to make a movie. No overblown performances, SFX or expensive sets. Just a truck, a guy and a little red car.

Just saying, Duel is one of my favourite movies of all time. I remember watching it as a kid, and have revisited this classic numerous times over the years. I've subbed because I want to stay up to date with this.

I happened upon "Duel" one Sunday on WGN-TV9 thirty-something years ago and was entranced by the whole thing. I recall going to work the next day and mentioning having watched it. My co-worker said, "I saw that, too!! That was awesome!!"

TO me the cliff seen at 9:06 is the one in the movie as seen @9:08 but from another angle. Remember that erosion will have changed it's shape over a half century.

great movie and the fact they had Stuntman Carey Loftin as the driver of the Rig was a perfect choice. Carey was a stuntdriver in awesome movies like Bullitt, Vanishing Point, The French Connection and Maximum Overdrive

You can download and drive that Peterbilt in American Truck Simulator. There’s also been that tanker trailer, but that’s no longer compatible with the latest version of the game.

Duel was an incredible movie and I remember it well - I even have it on Blu Ray. Even more incredible is that you seem to have actually found it!!
Can't wait for part two now. Really hope you get to bring some bits back with you. Actually owning a part of the actual truck is unbelievable.

20:00 The stuff you found around the 20 minute mark was really far from the crash site. Unless that area is prone to massive flash floods, I don't think they're related.
