New TVS Jupiter 2024 - Threat to Honda Activa | First Look

- So the new 2024 TVS Jupiter is finally here at a starting price of Rs 73,700 for its base drum variant. The top-end variant, Disc with alloys, however costs Rs 87250. In that extra money, you get tons of features including an integrated starter generator with a bigger aux battery to power it and torque assist. Though we have ridden it for a short time, we'll talk about all the changes it has received in its new-gen avatar. Ride review will go live tomorrow.
Note - This vehicle was given to us by TVS Motor company at their Hosur Plant.

No kick is a big drawback, you cannot start gearless scooter with h push or rotating rear tyres like bikes i think kick is a must have feature. I m using bike from lqst 12 years without kick and i know how difficult to start if battery dies or some wiring problem is there
Two things - 1. first only the top-end variant misses out on Kick start. And that too now gets a new motor for ISG and a bigger/more powerful battery to sort out any niggles related to engine failing to start. 2. If you want it with a kick start, you have that in three trim levels.
Lack of kick will discourage many from buying the top model

@@ICN whatever the motor is or how powerful the battery be i tell you after few years, the scooter won't start maybe due to cold or maybe due to some other problem related to self start or something else in engine, and we the customer be like thinking 'adjust karlenge' and that's where kick start comes in handy.
I had the similar problem with Pulsar220 had to sell it due to lack of kick.
@@sudhansuranjanmohapatra6429 definitely it's not at all worthy as at some point battery or wiring might malfunction and you can't even go out to mechanic for changing the battery or repair so kick is safer

These all techs are already available in yamaha scooters and those are 125 with nice fuel efficiency.

I have a smart x connect model which has these features and yes it is useful in real life conditions.

i bought activa 125 in 2015 still its so smooth and in same time my friend bought a tvs Jupiter and he says it has looot of issues .
And few of friends have 1st gen activa model more than 20 yrs and it still runs fine

Using Tvs Jupiter since past 5 years no issues very reliable scooter even met with an accident and fortunately nothing happened to me nor to the scooter. I am absolutely satisfied with my TVS Jupiter

Now TVS jupiter carry some design feature of TVS iqube, but don't understand why do all scooters carry black visor on head lamp, it neither feel new nor different. Front side look like Ather Ritza.
Sab electric ho rha hai bhai, even ice engine vali two wheelers ke design Electric two wheelers se match hote ja rhe hai jisse log electric two wheelers ko common samajhne lage. Jo ki acha hai.

I own 125 cc it has almost the same features. Drawback - fueltank in front and start problem, battery drain fast.
Service center guys in metro cities don't have idea about new tech like IC for start and start problem.
Don't waste money, I have wasted and literally regretting. I also own 110 jupiter the old one and that works good because it do not have fancy features
Scooter without kick is absolutely a no. I used pulsar 200 way back without kick and it was absolutely rubbish . I vowed not to buy a two wheeler ever without kick hence bullet classic made way into garage n its absolutely lovely to drive no hassles.

Bhai i also using pulsar 180 without kick from 2010..i never faced any problem…change battery in every 3.5 years

Cost cutting by removing kick in top variant is not fair and good idea. Its a deciding factor for most buyers.
Sorry yogiji but can't trust a scooter without kick, in cold & rainy seasons it'll be a huge problem to deal with, honestly I would have paid extra for the kick in top model if provided, so I'm thinking of getting one & I have to go with the 2nd best model I guess, hope tvs does something about it after hearing our response. Thanks for the walk around, waiting for the full ride❤
Agree. But you will miss disk break there which is also a must have feature now days.
@@siddharthsingh7341 I have been riding my bike without disc on bad roads in rains for last 7 years & it's still manageable but if doesn't start I get a panic attack... So kick over disc is the only choice left I guess..
I have used both activa and Jupiter for more then 5 years each , both are good and reliable...but i found jupiter a bit more better and a bit more better value of money!

Activa has and will continue to rule our roads. Simply put no company from our country can match japanese engineering and the super reliability the scooter provides. Just light years ahaead.
Agree absolutely. I have the ist Activa model and riding since 2002 and it's a delightful scooter without much maintenance. The riding ergonomics, pick up is second to none in it's category ❤

Wrong. TVS is as reliable as Honda. Honda activa is a basic scooter with a good engine with no features. Yes uncle aur Aunty logo ko wohi pasand hai aur aap bhi uncle hi lag rahe ho.

Both these brands are at huge risk against Ola electric..i hated electric scooter but the running cost difference is mind bogling its 20 times cheaper than ICE. No surprise that their sales have hit rock bottom
Agar iska suspension comfort potholes mein better hai activa se toh fir buyers should consider it. Otherwise activa will be the segment king.

There’s turn by turn navigation, but of course it’s the map that comes with TVS app and not google maps.

First, this isn’t a review. The first ride video with all the major positives and negatives is coming tomorrow. Second who’s the biggest challenge for Activa if not Jupiter? It’s the second largest selling scooter in the country and with all these updates, it’s posing a bigger threat.
Problem in chassis... It is breaking into two - piece..

Without KICK, TW won’t succeed.
Based on practical consumer experiences from last 12 years in TW.
90% customers don’t know at the time of purchase that vehicle doesn’t have KICK😮….When battery fails or any other reason…they find out that surprise 😅😂
