      Rich: It is VERY big. It's easy to forget even when you live here! Texas alone is 800 miles across whether you go east to west or north to south and that is just one state, though it is the 2nd biggest in the country. Colorado is the 13th largest state so it is quite large/

    We now live on Lake Lanier GA, but when we lived in Colorado we had a mountain home in nearby Rosita. A wonderful getaway from out then-corporate life. A great place to visit when you just need to getaway.

      I am shocked and surprised that this video still gets viewed, but I'm glad it does. I love that people who have a history in that area find my video. That is the coolest thing to learn things about these great towns and virtually meet others who know about it. Thanks for viewing, commenting and sharing.

      Ernest Bain WOW! As you have seen in my video, you are about to be smacked in the face with BEAUTY! If you do any 4 wheeling, go up Hermits pass, but be prepared to air down a LOT as it is very rocky and bumpy. Once up top, the wind is CRAZY hard too. In fact, if you are interested, I made a 4 part series of my trip up and back. The first is right here. th-cam.com/video/QpeQbfsUx2M/w-d-xo.html If you go, let me know. Thanks for watching and commenting. I look forward to hearing what you do there.

    Oh, and the furniture store next to the pawn shop used to be Jenning's Market. I was a butcher there briefly.

      +John Johnston I certainly will. I thank you for subscribing. I just rewatched this video and it is far from what I do now. I will reshoot the town this year, make an updated version and show you a real difference. I love The Cliffs and will do what I can to help promote them. have you watched my Hermit Pass Video set?

    Thanks for sharing. Brings back memories from when I lived there. Not much has changed except for a few new names. The Somewhere saloon used to be a bar with an Irish name and the dollar store wasn't there when I left.

      Gerrit Hoevers Thanks for watching and commenting. Westcliffe is a special place. The mountain views are just spectacular and the town is quaint and laid back. We have been there several times and plan to be back many more. Please check out a lot of my other videos. We ran up Hermit Pass outside of Westcliffe so you might enjoy that at th-cam.com/video/QpeQbfsUx2M/w-d-xo.html It is a 4 part series, about 20 minutes long that will show you the town from a whole new perspective. Please share and subscribe if you haven't. I have lots of Colorado videos. Thanks again.

    I used to live here from 1990-2004 really miss the area.

    • @DannyFyffe
      @DannyFyffe  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I cannot imagine living there and then have to give it up. That would be very difficult as I have a strong love myself of that area and wish I could afford to live there.

      it has gone up in price since I have owned land n homes there back in the early 90's but still a quiet peaceful place.

    • @DannyFyffe
      @DannyFyffe  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      melbytvenge Yes I can attest it is quiet, quaint and beautiful. I would be honored to call it home.

      You can still buy there like in the bigger subdivision south of westcliff trying to remember the name like 15 miles south. land is cheaper but you still have that view of the sangres.

    Gerrit I remember Harold Jennings n his wife, they had the best meat in the area n were an asset to the community it was sad to see them close there is a story behind harald Jennings n years ago how he saved Westcliffe from going under he trully saved the town n hope people remember this that he did.

    • @DannyFyffe
      @DannyFyffe  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would love to hear the story and know more of the history there.

    • @melbytvenge
      @melbytvenge 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you are in the area stop at custer county library n ask for the history of Harold Jennings I am sure you will get the answer there.

    Hi, nice video. I was the town administrator for Silver Cliff for 22 years. Biggest pet peeve...not spelling the town name correctly. Please correct it. Silver Cliff always struggled with getting recognition. Thanks.

    • @DannyFyffe
      @DannyFyffe  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That had to be a nice job. Is that really the correct spelling? I thought the town sign had the "e" on the end of it. I can see how West Cliffe gets more recognition since it has the school, the library, the shopping downtown area, grocery store, mountains, etc. But both have their strengths and both are in a gorgeous area. I will look up the spelling and correct if necessary. Thanks for watching.

    • @DannyFyffe
      @DannyFyffe  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Susan Pedro I have corrected the spelling on the title and tag. thanks for bringing it to my attention.
