I noticed that both ghan locomotives rostered on the freight run. is still owned by Pacific national, & that the Australian freight operator got contracted to operate for the great southern rail services providing locomotives and crew for their Indian pacific /great southern/ the ghan and overland services. their NRs on most occasions will get both passenger & freight shifts.
@@WizardBladesTV yep it's their longtime contract. & they provide the locomotives and crew to operate these trains. so most of the Indian pacific/ghan/overland and great southern locomotives are mostly made up of nr classes that are rostered on both passenger and freight duties
@@WizardBladesTV mostly you see G530 being a regular trailing unit on back of Indian Pacific then that unit gets sent up to another freight terminal for freight duties with the nr

NR18/19/25/26/27/28/29/30/31/74/75/86/109/110 are all owned by pacific national and leased to journey beyond for there services
They can be used on frights when not required on journey beyond services like over the summer period the Ghan doesn't run
