@Tay_YT I KNOW THAT MAYBE YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO MY TEACHER IS. WHAT SHE DOES IS PUT US VIDEOS FROM TH-cam AS AN EXPLANATION WHEN WE ASK HER, DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN
A simple subject has one noun/pronoun while a compound subject has two nouns/pronouns joined by a conjunction (usually AND). A simple predicate has one verb while a compound predicate has two verbs joined by either a coordinating conjunction or a correlative conjunction. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching. :-)
Thanks a lot for the video # but I have query mam, whether a sentence with a compound predicate will be called a simple sentence, or complex? # moreover, in the sentence"David is intelligent and wise.", is it a compound predicate?
Compound predicates don't change the structure of sentence "David is intelligent and wise" is a compound predicate adjective. That is another discussion. It follows a linking verb which links the subject to the predicate. No action at all, just ideas shared.
Does a singular or plural nouns/pronouns affect the way the subject is determined? If the sentence is: Some bad kids took the old man's wallet. Does it mean that "bad kids" is the only subject or a simple subject even though it is in a plural form? And if the sentence is: They went to visit a dog cafe. Is it only a simple subject? Thank you in advance! ☆☆☆☆☆
