A breath of fresh air - With honest and straightforward advice and information! I've met loads of like minded people from all around the world via Live shows from US drone owners. I'm a bit of a way off from the 1K. I enjoy my videos and getting out and about ... Aerial and terrestrial photography via drones and dslr ... My name might not be on the tip of someone's tongue, so have made other channels - Drone Above Ireland. Onwards and upwards ☘
Thanks for watching and the comment - as I've said in other vids - I'm just a regular guy with a drone and I know what I know (and not much more! 🤣) Cheers mate - your comment means a lot... 🖖
Very true, everything you say. Brilliant advice - as someone who got monitised late last year, I couldn't find fault in anything you said, even if I wanted to! Heres to your next 1000 👍👍👍
Excellent tips, mate. Every DJI drone pilot who has a channel needs them. And it's really cool to follow this journey, here's to reaching 1100, 1500, 2000, 5k, and many more followers! You realy deserve it! Oh, we know it's a lot of work, but... friend, I was desperate waiting for a new video 😍
Ian - you have be instrumental in getting this video out! Thankyou so much - it means so much to have someone around that is so supportive of the channel. Hope the Air 3 recovers soon and the battle scars heal quickly! 😉🖖
@@amoktimeflies Thanks buddy, but you would do well either way. The air 3 seems fine, but my emotiotional and confidence, not too much... I'll be better Hahahahah ( I'll need to change propellers and maybe do a hover test )
Absolutely brilliant mate, been waiting for this one 👌 some fantastic information and you made it really enjoyable to watch aswell! Thankyou for taking the time out to do this, you deserved the 1000 subs! Look forward to your next one, have a great weekend! 👍
I really enjoyed this. Watched it all the way through!! 😂 It was easy to be in your shoes, very familiar stories of progression, doubts and highs. Essentially, the wonder of flying and making short films is a personal journey for everyone to see, if they choose to. It's a wonderful journey and I share your joy. Davey
100% Davey!👍I was just talking to my daughter about that - I enjoy the process and all of the things I learn along the way... The bonus is that I can share that journey with others as well. Thankyou for your lovely comment and for watching! Amok 🖖
Arh just found the genesis of your channel video - knew you were a Trekkie (Amok) You put humour in and that’s the key for me ! unfortunately drones often bring serious channels, there good but , bit of fun and learning is better 👍 Well my spare time is all drones rockets and Xbox ! And dog walking on the sea wall ( here’s a job for the new Dji Neo ) I can’t operate a large standard poodle and a drone at the same time , well I can now with the Neo! So you know I’ll be back . Thanks for sharing 👍
Cheers Ian - yeh - that vid was a labour of love and out of 'niche' so didn't get a lot of traction, but I had to get it out of my system because anyone that is interested in building a TH-cam channel needs to know some of this stuff. Drones, editing, photography and of course my YT channelhave kindof meant that I've virtually not touched my PS5 in about 18 months. Interacting with the YT community, flying drones and editing videos is so much more captivating! As I said in this vid - don't know how long it will go on for, but as long as I enjoy it and don't completely bankrupt myself in the process then I'll live from vid to vid... Thankyou for your comments and support - it genuinely means a lot.... 🖖
Top 3??!! How dare you! JUST KIDDING!!! 🤣🤣 Sincerely that is really flattering and nice to hear. Thank you, as always, for your kind words and support - you have been along for the journey for ages and I really really appreciate it. Take care buddy! 🔐🔒🔓🐈🐈⬛🖖
It was nice to learn that we started our drone journey at the same time. I hear you when you speak in your video about the challenges a beginner faces. Today, apparently like you, I am addicted to buying DJI drones, lol. Please continue sharing your experiences with humour and show how much fun drones are. Congrats to reaching 1,000 subscribers!
Frank - so nice to hear from you and thankyou so much for taking the time to comment. Drone #4 arriving tomorrow - watch out for the ‘Late To The Party’ unboxing! 😉🖖
Nice little video and entreating as always. Now the weather seems to be getting a bit better and fingers crossed I hope to have a bit more time on my hands I might just be able to use mine..... At 18 min in the shot of the cliff/beach is that at highlands end caravan park as took our van there last year and walked down to the beach, looks just like that. Your editing is good and the sound is good to, correct in saying about people will just click off if poor sound as I do that myself. Well all the best and happy YouTubing and flying ( YouTubing?..... now is that a word )
Thanks Ste - yeh that's at Eype's Mouth in Dorset, near Bridport and just west of West Bay. From a series of two very early 'non waffly' vids that I did. I still need to work on the sound - ironically I'm not that happy with it in this vid - I think TH-cam compressed it a bit, even though I checked that it was at the right levels to stop them doing that... Probably some c*ck up I made though... Looking forward to seeing some of your drone footage soon! (Summer seems so flippin late this year!) All the best.. Amok 🖖
Even though you’re now aiming for 4K, this is still a very authentic video that shows the path wonderfully. Right now, I’m at the threshold myself, and apart from a single (unlisted) video, I’m starting to show more of myself and speak directly to the camera. Even though, in that video, only my hands are visible, it’s pointing in the right direction to cross that threshold. I can clearly see that my most-watched TH-cam video is the one where I also bring information and personal insights. It even came out of a (small) frustration with other TH-camrs: drone comparisons. I still get really annoyed when someone chooses sunset to compare two drones. The preferred drone gets to take off 15 minutes earlier. So how does the evaluation turn out? Exactly! The second drone doesn’t handle low-light environments as well as the first (usually newer) drone… Ugh! That’s why I had the following idea: I let both drones take off at exactly the same time and film exactly the same subject. Here’s where you come in a little bit… I already have many time-lapse shots using the hyperlapse feature, especially this comparison. The Mini 3 Pro was freshly released, and as a self-funded enthusiast, I already had it. I sent it up in the sky alongside my Air 2 for a direct comparison, and I played the results side by side. Every now and then, I even go back and watch my own video-it just works there. If only I could invest more time! On my personal journey, a broken, crashed Mavic 3 literally jumped into my path. DJI repaired it for me, so my hobby budget didn’t have to be stretched to its limit for me to fly this DJI marvel. Once again, a huge THANK YOU for your insights. They strongly reinforce my resolve to primarily run my TH-cam channel for myself and add more information as needed so that, when the time feels right, I can launch the rocket. Best regards from Switzerland!
Hey - thank-you so much for your message and I’m glad this video helped you out! I was very lucky with one semi viral vid I did a few weeks after this one which generated over 1000 subs, but whenever I see that counter tick up I raise a glass to the person that subbed 🍻 I will never take those wonderful people for granted! Best of luck with your TH-cam journey - and when you get to those points where you’re not sure if you can do it (and believe me those times don’t completely go away!) then JUST DO IT! What have you got to lose? Every video helps you learn. All the best! 🖖
@@amoktimeflies Thank you for the feedback and the encouragement! Right now, for me, 1,000 views probably mean about the same as 1,000 new subscribers would for you… Really, we’ve chosen a fantastic hobby! After a stressful day at work, I often grab the drone and head to my favorite spot almost right outside my door. At the moment, that’s more than enough for me, and it doesn’t even have to turn into a viral video. It’s already a great fit as it is.
Just come across your channel, it resonates with me as I have only a small channel but invested heavily in equipment.i do like the feeling of making content but not for scrounging and mithering people to subscribe ... Oh by the way I have subbed to your channel ... Cheers John 👍
Thanks John - yeh unless a miracle happens there’s unlikely to be a return on investment, but what do enjoy is being able to share my hobby and experiences with people with the added dimension of learning about film making editing and how TH-cam works. One thing I do find is that you do have to remind people to do the old ‘like and subscribe’ if only because I’ve personally found myself watching and enjoying a video but completely forgetting to do it because I’m so into the content! Thanks for the sub and best of luck with your channel!🖖

Very good question and I'll now make you wish you didn't ask! 🤣 I use the DJI Mic 2 with a lapel mic plugged into it - I bought a relatively cheap one from Amazon for about £13-£16 (Link below) and that seemed good enough, but then I saw that DJI had one at £35 and thought - well surely that's better! Spoiler alert - it's not - don't be tempted - its a piece of poo! The sound is mediocre at best and the length of the wire is WAY too short - very disappointing! So this is the one I'm using now and that I used in this vid - nice long wire, comes with a fluffy wind protector (the DJI one doesn't!) and two adapters - one USB C and one 90degree adaptor . amzn.eu/d/30xu2YS It's a damn good price and significantly better value than that DJI P.O.S. 😉(I'm not getting sponsored by them any time soon am I? 🤣) All the best and thanks for watching!🖖
First of all my friend congrats on the 1k subs! Love the channel so original and comicle😅 Your editing is superb in my opinion! But please don't do one on this new dji mini 2 4k sick of seeing this now😅 atb!
Thanks Paul - and don’t worry - DJI didn’t send me one to review as the channel isn’t big enough yet, a whilst I *am* considering the Avata 2, the Mini 4k is a downgrade from my other 3 drones, much as I love you all, I’m not going to buy it purely to make a video on. That said, the Mini 4k looks like an ideal entry level drone for someone that wants to ‘try out’ the hobby without too much outlay. As always, thanks for watching and your comment 👍🖖

Great video just a quick comment were do u get your music from I'm a small TH-camr drone flyer and I do all my editing on my mobile phone (that's all I can afford at moment) I've got about 260 subs at moment. I do use TH-cam music and mention there channel in title etc but I do get copyright claims! Which I'm not botherd all the time but I would like not to, so could u push me in the right direction thanks....
Hi AJ - thanks for watching. So far I also only use the TH-cam audio library for my music as well, but taking a look at a couple of your vids I noticed that you don't credit the artist in your description which is likely why you're getting copyright strikes - especially if the track has a 'Creative Commons' licence. If you scroll to the bottom of the description in any of my vids you'll see the credits there. I always put credits for all of the music even the music where the licence says that it doesn't need attribution, but especially the tracks in the audio library the have a 'CC' in under the licence - you have to click on the 'CC', click 'learn more' and copy and paste the text shown into your video description. So if you're getting copyright strikes when using TH-cam Audio Library tracks, I suspect it ma be because you are using Creative Commons licensed music and haven't credited them in your description with this text. Sorry - bit of a long boring explanation, but I hope that helps and good luck! 🖖
Thanks
