Anathema my favorite band of all time.... been following them since 1990 absolutely fell in love with The Silent Enigma when released a few years later and this track was my fav... and WOW this is an amazing updated version of pure excellence!! In my mind cannot be beaten :))
A remake can never be better than its original because it is not original. The Sunset Of Age of Falling Deeper may be a amazing song but... There is a but...Original Sunset of age has a power, a potential, darkness, depth that a remake simple cannot emulate... Scrolling through all of the comments I was wandering whether noone will express my opinion... And then I saw your comment (last one left) and I was like... Finally... :)
B3bis, having been an Anathema fan since "Serenades", I must say their musical journey has been an extraordinary one. I say this because while I liked the "Hindsight" album, I *never* thought they could pull of a re-working of a song as monumental as "Sunset of Age". Yet, here they did. I *prefer* the original, but *both* versions justify their existence. They are just... interestingly different.
Excellent, well done! I´ve always loved the vibe of this song on the album Silent Enigma, but this is version is more than I could ever expect..the song has got a huge potential for rearranging, in my opinion.
@MoonBeam3100 yeah i agree they rearranged it beautifly but thers something i miss in this version. it is beautiful and sad, but it misses the "hoplessness" of the original. when i hear first version tears just come to my eyes
My ears hear some similiarity but my heart doesn't feel Sunset of Age in this song. And I realy don't like vocals on this version. And I miss original guitars so so soooo much.
@thisusername, no worries , did not mean to offent anyone ,Just my way to express a bit disapointment , been a fan since crestfallen and i do support bands developping themselves and exploring new styles 'everwake' for example is more complete now but Some things Should have stayed untouched! Gay is okay olee olee!!!
@@deadinside3193 It's just different. It is obviously more melodic, but that doesn't make it inherently better or deeper than the original version as you seem to think.
+Den ware I've been listening Anathema since Serenades, and while the original version is *truly* monumental, I have to agree with many others in these comments that this is a *different* kind of awesome. And really, you posted a derogatory comment about homosexuals in 2015 - what are you, a republican? I am confident enough about my heterosexuality to not fall into homophobic comments.
Anathema, if you're reading this, keep doing what you're doing. Your music is so full of spirit and passion that it often makes me cry from joy.

This can't compare to the original. Its far too up-beat and lacks any sinister overtones.
Od course it can be compared to the orginal version. It's way more melodic, deeper and overall better.

Gay gay gay, they fucked up one of my favourites
