    Thanks for the review, I love the sound of a spider resonator over a biscuit, these guitars sound great. I have one in my basket, haven't told my wife yet, but, I'm sure she won't understand, LOL ! It's a guitar, you can never have too many, right !

    Hi there! I have just bought the same guitar, sounds pretty neat. Minor flaws (saddle needs sanding, some minor rattling due to spider not-perfect adjustment, and whatnot), but very nice overall. Dude, if you allow me... practice a different RH technique. You’re “rotating “ your hand, because your wrist is way too much involved. That kills both your speed and string approach. Try avoiding “raising “ your hand after you stroking the strings. It’ll take time (because you’ll be fighting your natural instinct ) but you’ll enjoy the difference at the end of the day. Cheers mate 👍😎

    I was going to buy one tonight but now I don't want to as it just doesn't have the correct unplugged resonator sound..sounds great with electrics, just not what I want..looks great however

    How loud is it. Will it be loud enough to not to be drowned out by a banjo? It looks too small. Whats the decibel aprroximate range ?

    • @RazvanCosti
      @RazvanCosti  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it’s loud enough standalone and unamplified. It projects well

    On the website the specs say it has a spider bridge but clearly it hasn't.
    Great reonator though!

      Interesting point. I thought it looked like a spider bridge. Can you elaborate as to why (the difference i am missing)? I was checking put some other resonators with spider bridges, and thought they looked identical. Thanks

    I would like to buy the same one, but I'm hesitating..

    • @RazvanCosti
      @RazvanCosti  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alexandre Alos a good buy if you’re seriously into slide/Delta blues. Otherwise, it’s not necessarily an efficient purchase.

    • @alexandrealos5407

      @@RazvanCosti I'm exactly into Delta Blues/slide, so I guess it is a pretty good choice. Your video was amazing, thank you very much !!

    • @RazvanCosti
      @RazvanCosti  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alexandre Alos thx man! The only mod I did so far: a thin piece of paper under the wooden saddle to raise just a tiny bit the action. Thus, the slide glides easier on the strings, hitting less the frets.

      @@RazvanCosti interesting, okay I'll remember it. Thank you for the advice, I hope it'll works better now

    The bridge is weird on mine...in 2 halves .the strings jump out !
    I'm hoping to make some 12s gauge strings dig in and raise action for slide.
    IS THAT OK ?
    Will it take extra tension?
    13 s ?

    • @xodarap37
      @xodarap37 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bridge is split to allow you to adjust the tension of the spider to the cone via a screw in the middle.... too loose, and it will buzz.... don't expect the intonation to be perfect, but you can 'adjust' it by loosening the strings, and twisting the spider anti-clockwise (or clockwise, depending) to create an angle to the saddle... they do make compensated bridges for resophonic guitars, but to stay within vintage specs, the straight bridge is used, at least on spider bridge resonators... all it takes is a very slight adjustment, and you should be able to (more or less) dial it in... happy pickin' and grinnin' ;) ... oh, and yes, 12's or 13's should be fine, and help keep the strings in place...

    Ca you use standart amplifyer or you need to have acoustiv one ? Whats the pickup ? Standart or piezzo ?

    • @RazvanCosti
      @RazvanCosti  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aleš Muroň hi! So any amp is fine. The pickups are, in fact, mini-humbuckers. Hope this helps.

  • @Sunshine-Light
    @Sunshine-Light 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    My one is gloss finished, but the action is really high and difficult to play. How do I lower action?

    • @RazvanCosti
      @RazvanCosti  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mister Sunshine hey! For an electric I’d do it myself from truss rod adjustment and bridge height. For this kind, i’d take it to the local guitar repair guy: he could either work on the truss rod and/or lower the bridge by sanding the bridge bottom (mine has two separate wooden min-bridges) or sand down the nut. Now, if i wanna use the slide to play slide blues on this I WOULDN’T lower the action: the higher the better so the slide doesn’t hit the frets. Hope this helped.
