Very cool. I use this type of scopes when color correcting video footage. One tip for the vector scope when fixing your skin is to mask only the skin fo the subject (forehead, cheeks, nose) to better see where your skin tone line is. Pretty useful when correcting white balance if you don't have a reference of it in your photo.

Thank you! What do you mean by using color palettes in a landscape image? Could you expand on that a bit?

@@MichaelSturgill i would like to color grade landscape images in such a way that they have the same tones. On pinterest there are many picturres where a specific pslette is given, my understanding is that peoole use these palettes to maintain tbeir images color grrade in the same way. I have tried LUTs but results are not very consistent. Eg i would like my woods images to look moody and dark, kind of serie with the same colors and tones

Oh, okay yeah. So for something like this it's usually important to do some good color correcting so that all of your images start with a look so that when you get to grading, the same process can be applied to every image. Ideally, if you corrected every image, you could just apply a preset or LUT and just have to do some minor adjusting on individual photos.
Also, if you have to do a lot of images, I would suggest using something like Lightroom, capture one, or darktable to do this as it will make the whole process a lot easier because you can apply your edits and corrections to an entire shoot much easier than in Affinity Photo. The methods I've talked about in my "how to steal a color grade" and color correcting video could be applied here, especially in getting a palette from an image. Hope this helps!

@@MichaelSturgill yes thank you, this is what i do normally, including Lr but i am really keen on understanding what use may have a color palette.

I honestly think the palettes might just an aesthetic trend. I don't think they have anything to do with the color grading process, but I could be wrong.
