Hey thank you all in Toronto for doing it for us. Agreed with cdrank, we may not always agree but respect is a given because we're all fans of our own team in the end. We Canadians & Americans may talk 'smack'. We may post how great we are & that we are better than one another, but there is a reason why Canada & the US has the longest unguarded border in the world. No other 2 nations on this planet can claim this. As you read the numerous posts explaining how we tell each other why we are better than one another, at the end of the day, Canadians & Americans are truly great neighbours, are there for each other in ANY time of need, & we will always have each other's backs, (i.e. Iranian Hostages; Operation Yellow Ribbon on 911, etc) Love my neighbours to the south & glad they are our neighbours. I wonder if there will ever come a day when the US will have to build a wall or fence to keep us out?
+dieselboi91 You are so right. I remember standing in a group of people when a 'citizen' from another country started trashing Americans/the U.S. I went totally ballistic on him defending Americans. You should have seen the look on his face when he said, 'Oh you're American' & I said, 'No! I'm Canadian! And you sir, don't know Americans!" He of course followed up with the same ol'bullshit line we Canadians hear all the time…, 'Don't you Canadians know Americans hate you & will never respect you'? To which, I followed up with, 'Oh don't be silly! They respect us in hockey and to we Canadians, that's all that counts". I could have responded with a more intelligent remark, but there was no point. The man was an idiot! It was best to 'dummy-down' to a level he might understand.
