This version is so much better than the original Rolling Stones. It really captures the essence of darkness, depression and despair that people feel and continue to experience when they lose someone in death.
i think both capture it in different ways the original had this sense of anger, grief, emptiness, despair, depression- a reasonable thing of feelings. Him angrily wanting the world to feel his pain that he feels from the daily reminders of the colorful and happy reminder of what he lost that he's hurting from, his colors were taken from him and he can't hold in that pain and anger for it. this one has the pit of things, the hopelessness and emptiness, the depression, the type that gets you staring into space and feeling numb but angry at the same time. The self isolation is felt more with this one, its more gentle and broken feeling while still holding a quieter/softer though still clear anger- it feels like two different shows of grief, both of which are beautifully presented with the same lyrics
