Wow,,, This is a new Mega Grand World in Hanoi. Last year I been to a Grand World in Phu Quoc Island in the southern Vietnam. You guys can go to Phu Quoc take a tour they take you to the bottom of the sea with a personal guide and wearing a 38 lbs helmet without feeling any weights and no need to know how to swim, you'll see lots of colorful fishes and coral. They do videos and pictures for you. I don't even know how to swim but can go under of the sea and see the beautiful nature in the sea. it was one of the most wonderful experiences for me, loved it. ❤💯

@JanandAnn okay thanks. Hahaha yeah it wasn't great but since ppl don't really used mask so it's okay. Should follow the locals. Thanks for the vids, I visited all the places in ur videos!
I was in Hanoi two weeks ago, and it is one of the worst rated cities for smog at the time I was there. I was so mortified I wanted out of there the second I landed, but had the Ha Long bay cruise to attend first. The only thing I can say nice about Hanoi is the amazing hair wash. I got done there.
Dog meat consumption is really not uncommon in Asia even in this day and age. While illegal, some pinoys still eat dog meat. A korean I work with here told me that some people in korea still consume dog meat and are even sold in their markets.

Love watching your videos but this video in particular was a little upsetting to watch. Although there are some people who do it eat dog in Vietnam about 90% of Vietnamese people do not eat dog. Most people in Vietnam have dogs as pets and love and care for them just as much as you do yours so the comment Jan made about “in Vietnam they really do eat dog” is so damaging to Vietnamese people. For decades people have used this to discount them and make them feel less than. Remember you’re traveling in a third world country where most people have little to survive on and had to go through famine where they either ate what was available or starved to death. In the past this may have been the case but eating dog is not the culture and actually more uncommon than you think nowadays. Please consider this when making these types of comments in the future 😔
Hey, thanks for pointing this out! I really didn’t mean to offend anyone with my comment. I was just referring to something I saw during my visit, but I realize now that I could have phrased it better, and I’ll definitely be more mindful in the future.
I agree, it was a bit too much of a generalization when Jan said “in Vietnam they do eat dogs” although I also did understand that Jan was more just explaining how they felt seeing the dog stall in the moment. I’m pretty sure there are places all over Asia, usually in smaller rural areas, where people eat dogs, including in the Philippines. Correct me if I’m wrong but i thought i read that?
I completely understand and do appreciate the accountability! As someone who has dogs and is Vietnamese myself I understand all too well how that sight could be upsetting to see so I understand where you’re coming from! I think we all just need to appreciate each other’s culture and understand that these things are not always what it seems! Otherwise keep it up Jan & Ann. I am Vietnamese Canadian and I love dogs 🐕 ❤. It is unfortunate they eat them there 😢. People will not understand the love of a dog until they experience it themselves. However, not all Vietnamese people in Vietnam eat dogs. There are starting to have more dog and pet spa and daycare centers now.
You’re a Vietnamese with Canadian passport so pick one side only😂. You can go to Ha Noi and tell them you love dog and see the responses. We don’t let dog sleep in the same bed, licking your face, and other weird behaviors in between.
@@JanandAnn it's illegal in other Asian countries like Korea, Japan, The Philippines, Thailand, India, etc only vietnam and China love consuming dog meat because of their culture
For TH-cam travelers, I'd expect you to be more cultured and open-minded. I've never eaten a dog, nor do I ever plan to, but not everyone has access to supermarkets where people can buy beef from a slaughter house (where the animals aren't exactly given human deaths). Even then, many people in Vietnam, including children, make dollars a day in sweatshops, making the Nike shoes you're wearing. Have you ever thought they may not be able to afford "real meat" and have to eat whatever they can afford?
I really didn’t mean to offend anyone. I was just talking about something I noticed during my visit and saying how we felt during that moment. but I see now that I could’ve said it better. 😊
Dog meat is a dying "art" in Vietnam nowadays, if you found them it must be your day. Dog meat was never a meal in Vietnam it always a drinking snack for drunken guys. When I was growing up in the 80s only drunken men snacked on dog meat, women rarely touch them, even then you have to go to specific streets because dogs were caught illegally and never farmed. 90% of Vietnamese don't touch dog meat not because of humane reason but because of the dirty things dogs eat on the street and they got poisoned when they were caught, lots of people ended up in the hospitals in the 80-90s. It's surprising you see foreigners make up things like "Vietnamese made dog stew and eat with rice" , when asked what's the name of that stew they couldn't say.
I just want to add, dog meat prepared very different from other meats, because of the strong odor, alot of galangal, ginger. fermented rice, strong spices and herbs among other things were added to fight of the foul smell, which gave dog snack a unique taste and was praised by drunken guys. Women and ordinary people do not like this smell coming from dog meat. Considering all the strong added spices, dog meat have to cook 2 times, they roasted on fire first on straws to burn off, then take to cook a second time, and the smell is still there. So it's not easy to consume dog meat, to get, to cook.
No thanks. We're not from China. We had been to artificially built amusement parks in our own country when we were kids. We avoid the artificial places. That's why we explore the unique nature and places we don't find back home. Good try.

Thank you 😊
No thanks. We're not from China. We had been to artificially built amusement parks in our own country when we were kids. We avoid the artificial places. That's why we explore the unique nature and places we don't find back home. Good try.
Fair enough 😊
