    Let's say I want to stream some Poker! I want viewers to see my table and my cards on a 5 minutes delay.. But I want to interact live with them + camera + alerts + music.. Just want the table to be delayed.. Is there a way I could do that? Like put a 5 minutes delay of display capture of 1 monitor on portable mode and be live on the main obs with everything else.. So im interacting live and we have a replay of 5 minutes ago of my poker monitor? Thank you!

      So, you would definitely need two instances of OBS running, which would require portable mode so you could have two different obs setups active. However, a 5 minute delay will consume a very large amount of RAM. Video delays of this nature will likely require 32 GBs of RAM to accommodate both normal PC functions and the video delay storage.
      I'm currently away for vacation, but as I'm imagining this, I'm thinking the least taxing method of accomplishing this is basically two different streams. You would likely need to set the OBS recording the cards with a stream delay of 5 minutes. This would stream to a channel that is private and kept as unsearchable as possible.
      Then in your primary OBS, you would capture that stream with a window capture, cropping everything but the video out, and have it with everything else. Then stream to your main channel this way. This would eliminate the RAM requirements that would probably cause more issues than you would want and still achieve your goal.
      The drawback to this is you will lose video quality with the cards and be subject to potential pixelation issues from the network. You would need solid bandwidth to accommodate the two streams and either two PCs running the setup or a more beefy single PC that can handle it all.
      When I get back from vacation, I will look into some alternatives that I think could work but would need to be tested first.
      Hope this helped some! If you have any questions, please let me know. I'm now very interested to see if you are able to pull this off.

      @@OSUPhoenix13 Wow yeah I think this idea may work! And then I would capture the window of the other stream.. I do have 32gb of ram. But yeah having to live with 2 obs at same time and one using a 4-5 min delay might be a lot lol hope it will work! Thank you mate very much! I'll let you know if this first attempt works if ever you want to use it for a future vid! :P

      It's the best I can think of at the moment. I was going to suggest the dynamic delay plugin, but I don't think it can handle more than 1 minute before it starts to glitch OBS. It'd be something I'd have to test to know for sure.

      @@OSUPhoenix13 Humm Now that I've created the Portable mode.. What about the primary one.. How can I open Primary OBS cause if I try to open a second time I have to force open and both is written Portable Mode

      @@matthewpkr they have to be in separate directories. If you are trying to open two out of one executable, it is just trying to open the same one. So if you have portable mode done, just copy the OBS folder and duplicate it and name it like obs2 or something. This was you have two separate OBSs and not trying to open 2 of the same OBS.

      Hey @OSUPHOENIX, Qq SO I make that asset folder my import folder in obs for my media and stuff right?

    • @OSUPhoenix13
      @OSUPhoenix13  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@FightingWordz I'm glad you're starting with portable mode because it really will save you so much headache.
      As for the import, are you talking overlays that you purchased or importing from another OBS, like streamlabs?

    • @FightingWordz
      @FightingWordz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @OSUPhoenix13 Yes like overlays. Like the frame around the camera. Or a background. I'm guessing I'm making the Asset folder the place obs looks for the media file. So if I crash I can import the backup with the media files in place..?

    • @OSUPhoenix13
      @OSUPhoenix13  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FightingWordz yes. You can name the folder whatever you want. The important thing is that all your overlay items are on with OBS so when you back up OBS, it's all there with no issue.
      If you don't know how to setup overlay in OBS studio, I have a video for that on my channel as well. I even go over scene nesting as arguably the best method to group things together so you don't accidentally resize the webcam and have to adjust it again. I literally make these videos based off all the things that I struggled with when I started.

    I'm using OBS Portable all the time, and it is really life-saver! And rather than move my PC to another room, I just copy my OBS Portable to another computer, setting audio & mic. Done!

      I personally believe obs should just come in portable mode as default.
