He’s actually been vegetarian for many many years and vegan in the last few years. He loves animals and when you grow up in the punk scene, veganism and vegetarianism is huge as punk rock goes in support of human rights and animal rights alike. (Straight edge) none violence to others and oneself.

I'm a cancer survivor, I deal with some pain, tension, sleeping, etc. issues after all the chemos, surgery, radiotherapy. I was suggested to try CBD and even thc, tbh I didn't know that is even legal in Poland. Turns out it is when prescribed by a doctor. It was done by an oncologist so maybe there is some evidence, at least enough so actual physicians are prescribing it. The lady at the drugstore was very surprised and I was too when I found out that it actually helped with my symptoms. And I was very suspicious. But again it was medical-grade marihuana and CBD, that I can only buy at the drugstore with a prescription. To be clear it was not supposed to help with cancer, it was done after cancer treatment to help with side effects such as pain, tension, etc.

I’ve heard a lot of anecdotal evidence about CBD tinctures being helpful for things like anxiety. I know, anecdotal is not robust experimental research. @@SSM654 I agree with you that most Americans are not knowledgeable about world cuisine and I generally just shrug it off...However, UV lives in Portland, Oregon, which is not considered "middle America" or "the countryside". She also portrays herself as being intelligent, fair-minded, and educated (i.e. able to interpret scientific research and come to the most rational conclusion about what to do in her life). The only time she tries to become a "woman of the people" is when she wants to distinguish herself from other vegan TH-camrs like Ellen Fisher who seem to subsist on green smoothies, fruits, and salads (this includes her in her previous incarnation) or in this case a trendy LA vegan like Travis Barker. It comes across as being disingenuous to me as in all other matters she claims to be well-informed and, dare I say it, intellectually superior to other vegan TH-camrs.

1:39 I tried to get into matcha and I can confirm that it’s an acquired taste. People describe it as “buttery” and I think that’s correct; it tastes like unsalted, plain butter. It’s like you melted butter into hot water and maybe added something grassy to it.
It’s much better for flavoring things like ice cream and cakes than it is as a drink, IMO.

Cbd isn’t comparable to snake oil. I think it’s effects are overhyped but I’ve had doctors recommended it to me. One of the most noticeable effects for me is sleep. I’ve been dependent on medication for a while to the point I can’t sleep without it. Cbd actually gives me the chance to nap. Found this out when I took it to stay calm for a college advising thing and then passed out for 80% of it lol. I know anecdotes are not evidence but I have pretty bad chronic pain and CBD helps immensely for me, it has helped me get through days that otherwise would have been unbearable. Placebo effect is possible but I would literally take some in the morning, forget I took it and then hours later wonder why I felt good (mood and pain wise) before realizing oh yeah, I took CBD. I take it about once every couple of weeks, and I also only use black market (or grey market as they call it now in Canada bc of legalization) stuff that has a really high concentration. 🤷‍♀️ I am all about scientific evidence but the medical system sucks and my doctors have never cared or tried to help my pain, not even prescribing painkillers so I rely on "holistic" stuff and at the very least it makes life more bearable for me. His doctor phone him personally and he had a cigarette in his hand and the doctor said, "putt it out. No more smoking. And, your diet needs to change." They found six ulcers, and diagnosed him with Barrett’s esophagus. Pre-cancerous. He had to have surgery. He was a vegetarian since his teens, I believe. I’ve known he’s vegan for a while and his daughter is too I believe? Honestly he’s so damn talented he can do whatever he wants. Have you heard his new stuff? If you liked blink back in the day you should check out his new collabs with MGK, Kenny hoopla, etc.

Matcha lattes are quite nice but I only like them from cafes as my sister bought some matcha powder and made some at home and it wasn't nice, it was too strong. I would recommend trying it but from a cafe as they make it well plus not too strong, you may like them but its hard to know, I feel its one of those drinks you don't know you like it till you have tried it as has a unique taste.

there's a lot of research backing up the use of medicinal mushrooms like cordyceps or lion's mane. It's been used for ages in TCM. If you're just talking about some random mushroom tea (ew), then, yeah. That's prolly not gonna do a lot. But that medicinal mushrooms in general don't have a lot of science backing up their proclaimed benefits is simply wrong. Idk if you can say proclaimed there.
Also, this was just an "everything i eat in a day" this wasn't a "Try these amazing foods I love them". You spot the difference? It's not an advice video or anything, or a recipe video. It's literally just him saying "yeah i just go to restaurants basically". So I find it a bit hypocritical to be like "umm, how is this gonna help anyone??" it's not.
But that wasn't the point of the video. Weird critique.
Him slinging his CBD oils.. Eh.. just another rich celeb tryna get richer through gullible people. Good you're mentioning it, I guess. But I think there's a lot worse things like people selling dieting pills etc.
