@@exumbra1399 they did though? Gypsy Danger had a Plasma Cannon, Coyote Tango had shoulder cannons, and both Cherno Alpha and Striker Eureka had chest mounted missile launchers.
@@exumbra1399 If you don't count missile launchers or cannons (that a lot of the jaegers have) as a gun, my best guess is the emergence of higher category Kaiju progressively through time rendered conventional metal rounds ineffective. If you don't know, categories on a kaiju is not determined by the size of it, but through acidic levels of a kaiju's blood and how hard the protective lair of a kaiju's skin. Compare to damage from melee and HE, Anti-material cartridges is just outclassed in the long term. The kaiju will just get harder to pierce time by time.

Man, it's hard to believe that this masterpiece of a movie is almost a decade old.
Also, its weird that it doesn't have a sequel yet, imagine how much more awesome they could make it.
Eh i liked the sequel. When i watch a mech anime or movie i dont expect realism. I expect destroyed machines and giant corpses

Yes we got the mecha fights we crave for. But it's all bummed down by the bad story, not so well-written characters. And just, man. IT SUCKED.

@@wolfwarrior1176 it was bad my guy, the first one is flawed masterpiece but none can argue how good the 1st film was.
the 1st movie ignoring the some physics, it's realistic and clunky mechs are really good, the cgi is also really amazing (zoom in and you see actual scratches), story was a bit generic but it's simple narrative brought it all together.
meanwhile the 2nd one... the mechs move far too smooth and fast, the cgi is a downgrade (little to no scratches to the mechs and too smooth finishing), and the worst part is the story... it's mediocre compared to the first one. (drone disambling a kaiju and reconstructing it? pretty sure that all those kaijus would die if you consider the logic of that world.
not to mention how there us a kaiju that suddenly gains mass from the core of the no-pilot mechs)

Pacific Rim's my favorite movie so seeing a cover of its main theme here is absolutely magnificent and I'm glad it was done justice too, it keeps the same intensity as the original while still having an unique personality to make it stand out. Absolutely wonderful, I'm really glad that people still recognise Pacific Rim for the wonderful movie it is.
Now all that's missing would be No Pulse/Go Big or Go Extinct covers to make the whole thing utterly perfect.
