These are normally connected to water cooled condensors on large a/c or process refrigerators..They can reject a lot more heat than air cooled condensor so take up less space they normally would have 3 stages of cooling which depends on the the a/c load and the ambient outside tempreture stage 1 is water pumped to the top and trickle down baffles to cool.. stage 2 low speed fan.. stage 3 hi speed fan controlled by a 2 stage thermostat in the inlet line set at maybe 22deg for stage 1 and 26-7 for stage 2 If the fan is 3 phase for simplicity the low speed is star connected and the hi speed delta Due to legionairre concerns they are a lot rarer (here in the uk) than they used to be...The testing and chemical dosing regime to keep them safe is expensive
