- Kate Garraway joins Phillip and Holly for an emotional chat about her husband Derek's recovery from coronavirus, which left him hospitalised throughout 2020. Derek has now returned home to continue his recovery and Kate shares stories of his 'miraculous' progress.

My friend was paralysed for 2 years after a virus attack but with love and care she started to improve she is back so you must not give up hope xx

Having had covid and been in hospital for 14 days I can promise you that with time everything improves, memory, sense of humour and ability to be exactly as you were ...... with all good wishes CT, RSA

@@travelwell6049 I think people can have hope, and it’s not our place to put them down. In the reality, it may not always happen, but always thinking that negative is going to destroy anyone mentally. It’s not wrong to have a little hope. It may not improve, but when someone’s struggling, being brutally honest and telling them this may do damage. I understand you, to be honest, honesty is a lot. But then again, these people want to wish them well.

I understand what she means when she says “there’s no alternative. She can’t fold”. My husband (not covid) was at deaths door incl icu and everyone said “you’re so strong”.:::: but really there is no alternative but to keep on fighting and believing.

I know because my husband had a massive stroke and never regained his speech or mobility. The love you share will sustain you but please take time out for you and your children. God bless

I really feel for these families, but when I see books being advised I don’t know what to think the way holly held that book up are they saying go out and buy the book is it all about pound notes
I really think she's wrote this book to probably keep herself going and to help others. She seems like such a genuine woman and I'm sure she's already on a pretty good salary x
I believe Derek was ill with something bit it's just not believable that it was this flu scam. The book being advertised was tasteless & tacky.

Sadly my father-in-law died of covid19. Many things went wrong in the hospital at that time. Respiratory was not really necessary, plasma was not provided. He was totally healthy and age of 60. I still cannot believe it.
Kate is so strong and a beautiful soul. Derek's recovery is a miracle really.
@@fatlad5090 How's you know she is horrible? Have you lost or nearly lost someone of covid? Do you know how it is like? Hospitals cannot cope with it at all. Also yesterday they called my ancle that his wife woke up from coma, but today they told him that they have made mistake and it was a different woman that woke up!!! They told him that he needs to rush to the hospital now because his wife is dying!! What a mess!!!

Push the Covid, Kate’s husband was 1 of 8 that has suffered this way. How many are dying and being injured for life by these vaccines. Why don’t you report of them. Scottish Government FOI said that 2089 people died within 28 days of the vaccines. Over 700’000 reactions have been reported. This is now genocide.
With all the upset, stress and dealing with her husband (I’m happy he’s out of hospital) but how on earth did she manage to pencil and publish a book and plug it on This Morning!
Why do public figures always have to make profit over everything that happens to their life etc.
A good therapy is to write stuff down. She’s just telling a story and getting it out there, so many people are going through this.

I hear you Christine and myself have lost two friends, but we ordinary folk cannot get the point over. Derek is the only person to have survived for so long and if Kate as a face on t.v. can give people hope with her story then surely that is a good thing.
I am happy for everyone whom has made it, massively sad for others whom have lost loved ones, but definitely glad for Kate and the kids that Derek made it. Don't be angry please.

I think you are misinterpreting her agenda. Its Iportant to keep the horrific effects of covid in the mind of the public as it's not going anywhere. We all need to learn and remember that we could all be in her shoes, and she says that time an time again. She's got the money to do what? To live a year without her husband, without knowing what sort of recovery he will make, to comfort her children going through a difficult time?
A lot of people feel an affinity with her, especially those in the same or similar position. And some of us have been following her story, sympathizing with her, and wanting to have updates as we are really rooting for them. No one forced you to click on the video.

I think she’s amazing. Lucky her she has the money, pls don’t begrudge her because of that. My own Husb came back from the brink of death (incl long time in icu) and let me tell you it is EXHAUSTING!!!! I wish o hadve had the money to help me thru his battles as had to contend with financial stress incl stress of Husb health..... but I don’t begrudge late that she can afford the help. It’s a good thing for her.... and for derek
