    Great video!! Looking for a tethering options for my z6ii with my M1 ipad pro. I might use Capture One instead of Cascable. It’s a pity that lightroom mobile still can’t really do tether capture. I have a question. By using the power hub are you able to power the ipad pro as well? I do have my magic keyboard so I can probably charge my ipad pro using it but just wondering if I don’t want to use the magic keyboard, is there a way to do the usb tethering while powering the ipad at the same time? thanks!

    I appreciate this video! So frustrated with Canon Camera Connect wireless app. Been on with Canon tech support multiple times and they can't get it working so I'm turning to a tethered solution. Q: Do you always have to use the Anker Hub or is that just a way to keep the iPad powered for long shoots? Thank you so much! By the way, I'm on iPad 10 2023 with USB C.

    • @theCameraVille

      They anker hub is to offload the images from my camera to another location as I dont want to offload in the Ipad. I am currently working on a wireless feature video for tethering. Same App. Its pretty fast and easy actually. Will brb and get this video going.

    • @Ridgeback65

      @@theCameraVille thanks! 2 things: If you tether direct to iPad without Anker, does it *have* to also offload to the iPad and not just to SD card in-camera? I only need this system to act as a preview monitor for art directors while I work. 2nd, I have tried using that Cascable app wirelessly with this camera and have the exact same connection problems I do with the Canon Connect app.

      @@Ridgeback65 Howdie mate~! I just tested it to save on the SD card only and yes, you can do that as well. The orange cable is what I used to do it. ( I will make a video on this as there is dozen of questions)

    So I'm getting ready to photograph the upcoming total solar eclipse in N America. I have my Canon 80D tethered to my iPad 9th gen, running Cascable, works great.
    My question is can I use an external power source for the iPad while it's tethered to the camera?
    There's Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter that plugs into the Lightning port of the iPad and has a power port and a usb c port on the other end but I'm not sure it allows data transfer and some reports say it tries to power the camera also and gets the error message " “Cannot Use Accessory, This accessory requires too much power".

      Hey!
      It is only saved on the camera SD/CF . You can set it to the Ipad if you want.

    I use cascable - it does work well but the file system can be very slow. Especially when you have a lot of images on the camera. It sometimes takes forever to look through them - especially when a client is waiting. I am looking for a faster solution to the file system problem. Also some of the features on cascable are way slower then in the camera. For instance their bracketing feature takes forevor compared to doing it in camera - which means you have to disconnect and reconnect all the time. I am typically shooting on location fyi. In a studio this might not be that much of an issue. Just my 2 cents. I am running a Nikon Z6II.

      @theCameraVille  ปีที่แล้ว

      At the end of the video I did continous shooting on a R5C, 45mp 9:25. Its uncut and seem very responsive. The bottleneck on your end is the CF express card . You need a fast cf express card. Cheers

    Is there a way to do this wireless? I’d like to be able to shoot my patients and immediately put it on an iPad for them to swipe through their photos. Sorry for the noob question

      I will test around and see what I come across. Several folks had told me they had it working on lightroom but it keeps disconnecting, not secure. I will see what I find out. Stay tune.

      If you want your unit powered. If not, run off battery🫡

      Yup but stability is questionable. Also you will use up camera battery.
