    I can tell you the story of my recipe One of my Mothers best friends the late Geneva Bradshaw brought it to our house Christmas of 1994, Ive been making it ever since, its wonderful for breakfast the next day, mine uses brown sugar instead of white but all the recipes are very similar.

    "Only Kevin can get away with wearing a tie and shorts." I was already about to comment that I love the combo -- I do the same, but wearing a bow tie lol

    I don’t know of anyone that made pineapple casserole in central Missouri when I was growing up. I really want to try it as it looks great and the flavors seem like they would be wonderful together. Simple is good too. Thank you!!!

    This recipe has been a favorite in our family for many years! Every time we have it, we comment that we should have this for dessert sometime. I'm wanting to think my recipe is slightly different. I'll have to look as it's been a while since I've made it.
    From one ham to another, I'm digging the tie and shorts although I have to agree with Ralph. Only you could pull it off :) Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

      Hi Adam! I can see why this is a family favorite for you! It's wonderful and it's certainly sweet enough for dessert! Us hams have to stick together so thanks for liking the look! LOL!

    I know we are coming into fall and it's already in the lower 40's here as I post this....but for some reason a frozen pineapple cocktail kept coming to mind. Like a daiquiri or something.

      Hi micamp! It sure feels like fall here in the thumb of Michigan! I've been resisting turning the heat on - it's still September! LOL! A frozen pineapple cocktail is good anytime of year! Thanks!

    I remember pineapple upside down cake, but never pineapple casserole. Mom also didn't recall ever seeing it and we've both lived in NC all our lives. The only pineapple dish Granny ever made was pineapple salad with a lettuce leaf, some cottage cheese, a ring of canned pineapple, mayo in the center and a cherry on top. I noted your creative cursive spelling of "cassarole" on the blackboard, but to your credit you did spell it right in the video.

    • @cavalcadeoffood
      @cavalcadeoffood  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jonathan - that's funny because I was introduced to this dish in North Carolina and have heard from many southern cooks who have been making it for a long time. Not sure where it originated. It's something that we never saw up here in Michigan. Thanks!

    Ooooh, this is a family favorite!! Pineapple is a favorite in our home too. Some things that I make with pineapple that aren’t sweet are a savory pineapple cheese ball, shrimp and pineapple fajitas, kebabs with chicken or shrimp, a grilled cheddar and pineapple sandwich on sourdough bread, fried rice with added pineapple and last but not least, ham and pineapple pizza! Another great video guys! Have a lovely day, Nicole.

    What’s the purpose of the clear bottom in the green mixing bowl?

    • @cavalcadeoffood
      @cavalcadeoffood  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Susan! Pyrex made these bowls in a variety of colors, but the bottoms and upper rims were left clear. Probably part of the painting process. Thanks!

    I love pineapple casserole! I just saw your article on the Avocado green appliances and I am a lucky girl and have an oven and stovetop. My drip pans and "beauty rings" are showing their age. Do you have a source for replacements? I'd love to know if you do. I want to keep my green items. Thanks for all you do. I love the show and all kitcheny vintage things!

      @cavalcadeoffood  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Beverly! Nice to meet another fan of avocado green! Sometimes I see beauty rings for sale online (Ebay), but I don't have a source. I've found that a little Bar Keepers Friend cleanser cleans them fairly well. Thanks!
