Stunning Requiem by a virtual unknown Polish Composer ❤
What a stunningly beautiful Requiem. It always makes me wonder why composers such as Mateusz Zwierzchowski, who composed such beautiful works as this aren't better known.

Extra bellissima: Tuba Mirum - Bass 15:10 (poloneze) ; Liber Scriptus - Soprano, Alto 17:50 ; Libera Eas - Tenor, Bass 28:00 ; Hostias - Soprano, Alto 32:00 ; Benedictus - Bass 40:03 ; Agnus Dei - Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass And Chorus 46:41 ; Requiem (1760.) and was discovered only in 1958., in the Gniezno; Zbigniew Chwedczuk (conductor) recording is from 1964.
The most joyous Requiem I have heard. It gives a sense of light in death and a serene passing to the other world.

This REQUIEM is Polish by origin. In my opinion it is just an ingenious piece of art, regrettably hardly known to the wide public. This piece is so different from other Requiems - it's surprisingly dynamic, lively, dance-like at some moments, eg. Tuba mirum at 15:05. I really wonder why this Requiem remains underrated and virtually forgotten by my Polish compatriots. Shame indeed!

wow never heard this work before. Musica Antiqua Polonica, despite the name though, does not sound very authentic. but a great discovery nevertheless
