- After a devastating wildfire forced thousands of people out of Jasper, Alta., residents are returning to a changed landscape. With a third of the town's structures destroyed and Jasper National Park in ruins, the community faces the difficult decision of whether to rebuild. Authorities have warned residents to be prepared to evacuate again if the fires reignite, adding to the uncertainty. Blake Lough reports.
In Montreal, a massive water main break near the Jacques Cartier Bridge caused substantial damage. The rupture resulted in a several meters high geyser, paralyzing downtown streets for several hours. Phil Carpenter reports.

Weird that the Western governments and NATO don’t want to make a settlement and end the war in Ukraine. I guess it’s too lucrative. Many military strategists say this incursion into Russia will just end in a lot more Ukrainian soldiers dying. If rebuilding takes place in Jasper, or other towns in possible fire zones, they should give serious consideration to building with concrete, stone, and metal, and keeping trees and bushes trimmed and watered to help prevent the spread of fire in the town.

We should not blame or humiliate Australian Olympic breakdancer Rachael Gunn for the below sub-par routine. Australia sent this person to represent Australia at the Olympics for a new SEXLESS sport being contemplated. If Australia's intent was to highlight this sport for Olympic contemplation, they certainly did get lots of people talking about it. I've also glimpsed at comments about how the fix was in so that Australia was duped and sent this unqualified person rather that their best.
