He and his brother's wrote Please Be Mine, which is still one of my all time favorites of their's, and preformed it together for the label and in turn they were signed as the Jonas Brothers. They were dropped then disney came along and the rest is history. Their father was actually a preacher and they were forced to leave their church because of the music they played. Their amazon documentary is also a great watch.

Nick *always* used to play guitar, piano and drums circa 2006-2012 with the brothers and his first solo project Nick Jonas & The Administration. He hasn’t played instruments live as frequently since his revamped solo career and the brothers’ 2019 comeback unfortunately. They were genuinely pop-punk/emo fans growing up though. They’ve spoken about it many times! They surprisingly wrote practically all of their own stuff on albums 2, 3 & 4 and worked with one producer: John Fields. Whereas they work with dozens of writers and producers now. If/when you do their discography, you should be able to hear the difference tbh.
Nick is actually known for playing multiple instruments & on stage. When they were younger he would play the guitar, piano/keyboard & drums live. Dude can pick up & play pretty much any instrument.
