    Perception of risk by the audience. That’s the game. Actual risk? Of dying? No fee is big enough. Especially when you’re dead 🤷🏻

    Good video. Brings back some memories as I used to be a young professional magician/escape artist in Indiana in the '70's. Seeing you in the strait jacket reminded me of buying my first jacket when I was 15 or 16 years old. I ordered it from Posey (a hospital supply business as getting one from Abbott's was too expensive). I was so excited and practiced/used it so many times I actually wore it out and had to buy another one a couple years later. The one thing my parents wouldn't let me do was any "under water" escapes. I pleaded and begged, but (probably luckily for me) they would never let me jump in the pool with handcuffs or a straitjacket on. Keep up the great videos!

    I understand family privacy.
    But when a 19 year old dies, he didn't "go to meet his Lord." When he was in a car, with a drunk driver.
    If you DON'T specify why a 19 year old dies, you perpetuate the cause, and yet another mother will suffer.
    (Yeah, if they're 92, they're allowed to "go and meet their maker.")
    Thanks for the warnings, for simple yet, still quite dangerous, classical escapes.

    Good to see you took note of my comment in your she hulk react :) DBM on Netflix was great 👍 good episode Wes. Would still love to see a react episode to some of DBMs stunts. :)

    Yes a lot of those tricks are physically demanding, which is why, whenever you See Houdini in his bathing suit, you'll notice he is in PHENOMINAL shape. He wasn't huge but he was all muscle

    “It is morally wrong to do things on stage that are really too dangerous. It makes the audience complicit in unnecessary human risk.” - Penn & Teller. (From the Nail Gun Routine).

    i can understand the guy that swam out 100 yards before trying the underwater escape. its the same with high liners. Like, yeah you can just walk a tight rope near the ground but doing it across a canyon is mor impressive.

  • @adventureswithfrodo2721
    @adventureswithfrodo2721 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't think you have really done anything that was truelly dangerous.

    • @WesBarker
      @WesBarker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's kind of the point here. Nobody thinks they are doing anything "truly dangerous" because the know the secret. It's always the unforeseen things that end up getting you hurt.
