  • The focus of Military Images magazine has always been Civil War photography. These videos showcase, interpret and preserve the portraits of soldiers, sailors and other participants of the Civil War generation. In this episode, we look at another participant-a war artist-and his contribution to the way we visualize the war.
"Life on the Civil War Research Trail" is hosted by Ronald S. Coddington, Editor and Publisher of Military Images magazine. Learn more about our mission to showcase, interpret and preserve Civil War portrait photography at militaryimagesmagazine.com and shopmilitaryimages.com.
This episode is brought to you in part by Perry Adams Antiques, where every artifact tells a story. Visit perryadamsantiques.com to shop or get an appraisal.

I wonder who did the artwork for the American Civil War card collection from the mid 60's. As a child in Ireland I collected them and I still have them! They contributed to my obsession with the Civil War which continues almost 60 years later. I love these personal tales Ron. Keep 'em coming. Visited Gettysburg for the 2nd time last year (from Ireland)

Waud illustrations remind of Joseph Crowes work in the Crimean war & sepoy mutiny for the London illustrated newd. I'm wondering if he was influenced by him.
