Great review. I liked your little challenge and especially that you used the voice recognition. Most reviewers do not even mention it let alone try to demonstrate it.
I drive i4, and it's the best car I've ever owned, by far, no comparison, convenience of home charging, no gas station visit is just so great. Long road trip, scarce Electrify America (free for 2 years) location leaves much to be desired . . .
I have owned my ‘24 eDrive 40 RWD which includes the upgraded package for several weeks now. Coming off a Tesla M3, I can honestly say this BMW is such a far superior vehicle. This is my third BMW, this doesn’t even feel as if your driving an EV The BMW Engineers hit a home run with this car. I already had the level 2 charger, so I couldn’t be any happier. Such a solid, quiet, smooth ride
Currently drive a BMW 330e MSport Touring looking to go full EV next time. Great review. 0nly regret… the loss of separate controls for climate control.
Winter range is terrible, as is the range calculation software. Getting 240 miles from 80% charge when new. 1 year later, same time of year 180 miles. No change in driving style
What really matters with EVs with respect to charging is this: how many kilometres/miles can you put in per hour. The % is irrelevant. And what affects this is how efficient the vehicle is. The i4 is more like a Model S in terms of efficiency so on the same 50kW charger, the i4 (or Tesla Model S/X) will gain 100km of range in 30 minutes... whereas a 2017 BMW i3 (or a Tesla Model 3) will get ALMOST TWICE that range after 30 minutes. It's the problem with big, heavy EVs that aren't very aero.
The BMW i4 does make for an exceptional EV - it's just a shame it's yet another £50k+ electric vehicle...! When are the legacy manufacturers actually going to start providing WAY more affordable EVs...? If they don't, the Chinese car makers will absolutely clean up in the sub-£30k segment, leaving the establishment scratching their heads...
Yeah but its top notch premium in the driving experience. A go cart can be light, fast and efficient, but not a great everyday driver. Besides EVs like Tesla with high EPA ratings sometimes barely beat out some of the German EVs with way lower EPA ratings. She said she got 320 miles real world, and you call that terrible? For a 4600lb solid, premium car, its perfectly fine.

I recently bought a BMW i4 eDrive 40. It is the best car I have ever owned and extremely happy with it.
is it still a great car? I have mine on order.

Had my Ed40 a couple of months and my first EV. Really good car, very impressed with it so far
I want to know what the range is in good weather
Why Canada always say more Miles than USA version when Battery is same
I enjoyed watching the Video Review
‘Rear isn’t spacious’ am switching my mini electric for i4 don’t talk to me about space 😂
Beautiful car and voice

Very good point
The M50 version is not worth it. The torque steer is a dealbreaker.
After more than 15 years of iDrive, the BMW Engineers die a little every time you call the iDrive Controller 'the scroll wheel'.
It’s like a surprise to the designers that cars need front reg plates
Good review, but the miles drive me crazy. I wish Napoleon had invaded Brittain (and made it metric)

Why say you are sitting low is a negative, do want to drive a bus?
There’s a reason SUVs sell in such numbers… 😉
I liked the review, but stop shouting.. lol…
I had to turn the volume down
Volvo Recharge..
it will be a pig in the ice/snow due to its weight, its got terrible efficiency, and the real world range is just ok...

Didn’t take long for the Muskmobile fanboy to appear.
Stick a set of winter tyres on it and it will be fine. Besides, more weight in snow and ice is a good thing.
