Lisa Peluso has always been a favorite of mine but her last scenes with Alex were spectacular! I remembered her saying “It’s too much for me to bear”. Her delivery was so heartfelt and emotional. I remember it like it was yesterday. She was able to show even more talent when she joined Another World as Lyla.
I was absolutely devastated when it was announced that Lisa Peluso was released from Loving and wouldn't be making the move to The City, but I was happy that she wasn't killed off and the door was left open for a possible return. It was rumored that she was in talks to return as Ava in the final months of The City, but it was dropped when the cancelation was announced. She made a triumphant return to daytime as Lila on Another World about a month after The City ended,so it was a win for Lisa and her fans.
@@RockBandPlayer84 We got 2 more years of Lisa on TV and when she signed on in 1997,we didn't know AW would be cancelled in 2 years,so it was a win at the time.
Found this by accident. The soap opera at this time was on when I was a young adult with small children, but I wasn't able to watch because I couldn't get the channel it was on(it was the period where I was likely in between houses and getting a family I would eventually lose in twenty years). I knew Randy Mantooth had been pulled into the soap at least two years after it premiered( and I didn't watch then because I was school aged and a hormonal teen to boot), and he'd been on it longer than he was Johnny Gage.
Randy Mantooth joined Loving in 1987,4 years after the soap debuted. He originally was cast as Clay Alden, who was presumed dead and returned to Corinth with a new face via plastic surgery. 1 year later, it was revealed that he was really FBI agent Alex Masters who assumed Clay Alden's identity and then a few months later, the real Clay (James Horan) showed up. Randy left in 1990 when his contract was up and Robert Dubac replaced him for a year until the character was written off along with Linda Cook's Egypt Jones Masters. He returned in fall 1993 and stayed on until the end of Loving and made the move to The City.
@@cfs89 Randy left in 1990 because that was when he was having problems with his first marriage. He made a brief appearance on General Hospital(hated it) before returning to Loving as Alex and staying on when it became The City.
Lisa Peluso's final appearance on Loving was similar to Andrea Evans' departure from One Life to Live five years earlier. Both Ava and Tina left Pennsylvania as dejected women.

@@cfs89 Lisa Peluso , Lauren-Marie Taylor, Dennis Parlato, Meta Golding, and Nancy Addison all should have been offered to move to the city…
@@cfs89Another World was canceled in 1999 so not really much of a win

Her character on Loving was far more complex than the two dimensional character they gave her on Another World.
Lisa then went to ANOTHER WORLD as LILA -
PELUSO is the only actress that could possibly come close to playing a modern day SCARLETT OHARA !

Ally and Jocelyn would later become Carly and Olivia on General Hospital
