@@DrAlexGeorgecan you recommend a ADHD test for myself online? I believe I’ve got it, I’ve got a lot of symptoms to stuff I’ve heard / seen online. Tried to get in with my gp and was told I could be waiting months before I had a test through the NHS. Don’t have money to go private. 😢

When my mother died very suddenly of a brain aneurysm I was so low and in such an awful place. I couldn’t take antidepressants because they made me feel like a zombie. I turned to food and I have become much heavier than I used to be. I need to make some health changes as well. Thanks for the vlog and very happy to see you are feeling better x

Good for you, I had the same wake up call. I think we get to a point where we think that’s it! I’ve changed my diet - more healthy , more protein , no processed food. I found Utube has been a motivator for me. I exercise everyday , walk my dogs in the forest is heaven. I’m so pleased you are looking and feeling better about yourself your family including lost one’s will be so proud of you.

I completely resonate with your story Alex. I’ve recently stopped drinking alcohol completely and it’s completely changed my life. You don’t realise the effect alcohol has on you until you truly cut it out completely and utterly. I used to drink frequently to suppress my feelings and I still struggle making it out my room everyday. But not drinking alcohol has drastically improved my productivity in terms of setting goals, at work and also enabling me to realise that change is needed. Now I have started taking those positive steps towards making change as a result. Stopping the consumption of alcohol brought back realisation. Realisation that the behaviour I was displaying and the lack of judgement was hindering my everyday life. My changes may only be small but I have definitely achieved more this year than I did in the last 10 years of my life.

Really glad you took everything on board that I spoke about before and looked into taking care of yourself. After all you can't help others if you can't help yourself. You blocked me on Instagram because I guess what I had advised you was too raw. But now I hope you are at peace and understand that I was coming from a good place to help you. Sometimes the truth is difficult to except. But self growth us amazing and we are constantly learning and evolving over time. Self care is needed so congrats as its a better addiction. ❤

Not being 'reverse ageist' here, but am twice your age and still find it almost impossible to stop drinking and stop evening snacking. I know you have a book on this area, but I seem to do better with audio/hypnosis type stuff. I ebb and flow with the subject, motivation, discipline etc., and have a great run of days on the Mettle app too! But now looking to revisit the nutrition side and get on top of it. Drinking I can take or leave actually, but the evening snacking/sweet tooth are things I would love to finally crack. I have about a stone or so to shift.

I’m stuck in a complete dark hole of a rut atm, I’ve a herniated disc in my back and apart from walking my dogs I’m not even sure what kind of exercise I can do. I’m hating life right now, my life fell apart in 2016 when I found out my husband was cheating on me and within 6mts I lost a husband a house and one of my dogs died. Things were ok for a while when I was on my own but now I’m a severe deep dark hole and have no idea how to climb out of it. There is no real answer for my back issue only constant injections/epidurals etc. that don’t ever work. I live in constant pain every day and have been for 8yrs straight, I don’t even want to go on anymore, I get up every day for my dogs and if i didn’t have them I don’t think I’d be here. Any advice on how to motivate yourself, how to face the horrible winter ahead with trying to exercise?. I’m not sure where to start? I don’t have much money so being in the public system waiting for some form of therapy takes forever and I can’t afford private therapy. (I’m in Ireland). Trying to get help in this messed up medical system feels futile. So glad your doing better.

You look healthy, complexion is clear. Being conscious of life around me is important. I can now accept the down days because they do pass. It makes the good days really good. I gave up alcohol 2 years ago, real benefit of that means more physical energy and more time to feel awake and motivated. I walk. I truly love walking now. I have to walk everyday. I’ve since found I am reading so many books and they allow me to sleep better. I am not anti alcohol at all, but for me it was taking time away from me and affecting my sleep and concentration. Stopping booze helped me manage my diet and food choices. Like you I don’t intend to weigh myself. At a guess my weight is correct for my height. I like this feeling, my clothes fit better now. Glad you are progressing. Life is challenging and needs constant care. Every day is different. We should accept that, most of us try to just do our best. Take care and value yourself. Cant have been easy for you and your family losing your younger brother. ❤

I would love to know what kind of things you ate to lose weight. I have hit menopause and the things that used to work no longer work. I've tried being kind to myself but that just means eating more!

I have so much respect for you 🙌 you are changing lives more than you know. Thank you for all you do for mental health 💙 I took control of my life by not drinking alcohol anymore 2 years ago this month. Best thing I've done for myself. Look forward to more videos from you.
