  • This is the rarely-seen opening featuring J.D. Daniels instead of Holland Taylor.

Best thing about this show was the theme song. But Just the Ten of Us should never have been cancelled for this. Boneheads at ABC admitted this a year or so later.

Not to mention when Going Places failed to rate, they practically retooled the show by firing Holland Taylor, bringing in Philip Charles McKenzie and Steve Vinovich, and changing the premise as a result.

It's crime that this is not found much online or able to buy somewhere legit. Can tell it is a great American, nostalgic comedy to watch for some

Interesting..my memory played tricks on me. One, I thought J.D. was featured after Hallie (who was his aunt on the show), and two, I thought he was skateboarding in the opening credits. Meh, it's been 22 years, and he was only in five episodes or so before this was canceled.
    Thanks for pulling this up!

It says something that there's about seven videos of the intro... but only one full episode of the actual show.

There were a handful of episodes on TH-cam back in 2018, but the channel was pulled due to copyright violations. I believe the same person is back with a new channel, where the first six episodes are back up.

I never liked how the Miller-Boyett show openings always had to have the stars do something then stand there smiling at nothing for several seconds while their names appeared on the screen. So awkward.

I don't think they were supposed to be smiling at nothing. I always viewed it as one of the other characters walking into the room and catching their attention. In the case of the Going Places intro, I believe the characters were supposed to be looking at each other. Notice how Philip Charles MacKenzie, Staci Keanan, and J.D. Daniels wave to someone.

Right?!? I don’t think I minded it so much back then bc I didn’t know any better but now I’m like this is way too cheesy

How would you have done it?

@@sha11235 Good question. I would have liked to have seen more candid introductions, such as the cast, in character, hanging out somwhere. Despite being in character, the actors could just be enjoying hanging out together while cameras are rolling to capture group and individual shots to blend together for the intro. It would be more natural than what they actually did.

This must have been when I stopped watching the show bc I have no idea who half of these people are

I'm GLAD they cancelled this junk just after a few episodes. Should've kept Just the 10 of us. Big mistake.
