@@CapnSlipp I still don't see why Sarah Connor is more "believable" than Grace. I think the hate is 1: nostalgia for T2, since most fans saw it when they were young and it made more of an impression, and 2: just the anti-hype. Dark Fate was bad, but still miles better than T3, Salvation or Genesys, IMO

Robert Patrick trained himself to shoot a gun without blinking, run with the illusion that he’s not breathing, and run so well that he looks inhuman. That is such dedication god damn. ( fun fact: in the galleria scene, they actually had to tell Robert to run slower because he kept catching up to the dirt bike. That’s how dedicated he was. It was almost as if he wasn’t acting at all ).

I remember being scared at certain things on an instinctual level like when he swung over the pit from a great height, got sealed up in a dark room or burning a hand. But not so scared at anything involving guns, vehicles or explosions. And I remember being confused and bored when people had long dialogue scenes about romance or other things. Ultimately I think I just didn't understand enough of the story to appreciate the movie. Three years later at age 7 when I saw Temple of Doom I completely got everything with the story, loved all the action and appreciated that movie exactly the same way I do today.

To top it off, when they shot this scene and the other when John escaped on his moped, both times Robert was catching up to both vehicles. They weren't driving super-fast, so as to add to the tension, but he kept running too fast, so the scenes had to be reshot a few times. So not only did he get a good breathing technique, he more or less became one of the better runners/sprinters in the world, I think. Top 1000-100ish. At least for movie purposes.

What I love about the first 2 movies especially is that you can tell they are, at their core, pretty much horror movies despite being among the best action movies ever made.
You can tell Skynet, in this movie in particular, wasn't messing around.... No plot convenient escapes or excuses, no flaws in logic or common sense, John just isn't in the background somewhere while the terminators are having some over-the-top debris smashing Super Hero fight with CGI... You can tell that the T-1000 is doing EVERYTHING it can to kill John, no exceptions.
Its not playing fair, its not suddenly forgetting about abilities it has that should close the distance or realistically end the fight sooner, it is simply doing everything it can to accomplish its mission with machine-like tunnel vision and that is absolutely TERRIFYING.

Imagine how scary that'd be if done right. You'd never know when it would attack and could be disguised in real-time as anything (or anyone) to scare and deceive you. A statue, the floor/ceiling, a mirror, one of your Resistance "allies" calling for help on the radio. The possibilities are endless! 😎
And of course, just imagine encountering the T-1000 as you "think" you're in a safe location until he phases through an obstacle to get to to you and then start running after you with that iconic run and emotionless expression... 😨

Damn Hollywood, this is how you do a “Strong female” all of Linda Hamilton fight scenes are 100% believable. If this was made today she would have no problem fighting off those 3 200lb+ guards and probably would have had to save the terminator from that female guard before she effortlessly destroyed the T1000 proving she don’t need no man or even a friendly terminator. I can’t believe they cast Daenerys Targaryen as Sarah Conner in that new terminator travesty. Nothing against her, she acted the shit outta Daenerys(at least until they who shall not be named had to start writing the story on their own) but she is no Sarah Conner. She looked like a lost child not a semi psychotic mother of humanity’s leader.

Sarah: “is that right? Because 10 years ago you killed my friend Ginger, Matt, my mother and Kyle Reese. AND NOW YOU WANT TO PROTECT ME AND MY SON?”
T-800: “that was a different model. I was reprogrammed by John Connor in 2029 and then sent back 35 years ago to intercept a T-1000 termination attempt”

I love the Avenger series, but 12 year olds cried to the death of Tony Stark. I was 12 when this movie came out and cried to the death of the T-800.

I was 8 years old when the movie came out. I cried like a baby inside the movie theater when Uncle Bob had to be lowered down to the molten steel. Then I look at my mom and she was crying too.

So glad we have T2, a perfect sequel, and that no other sequels were ever made, ever. Never ever. They left the franchise alone after T2, and we’ve never had another Terminator movie since, and I hope it’s kept that way.

I love how they go back and forth with helping each other. Such as how John gives them a weapon, is given an empty weapon and reloads it, then hands it back.

1:54 if the T1000 had just poured into the back seat like he later does with the Helicopter...the movie is over and the Terminator movies end right there!
