split in half the whole kabocha, fill it with soy and season as this recipe, a bit of oil water and thyme, and bake it covered until soft, then scoop the inside slowly with butter into a nice really smooth mash

Can I make this with normal pumpkin?
Fried some pumpkin slices smaller than the video tonight in some seseme oil... big grey pumpkin ... had as a side with some ponzu sauce ... tasted great. Bet whatever you have to hand will taste great.
