Hi thank you very much for kindly disclosing your very valuable findings To elevate cheap units performance is very smart even if quite challenging They are designed and built at a price point When cost is indeed an object But with digital ... who knows ? I have a question Do you perform any kind of measurements before and after a modification ? i mean are the effects of your mods checked with instruments or listening only ? in this case i am quite interested having the same dac I do not like in general dacs depending on the low 5VDC voltage I much prefer the ones with a 12VDC power input like my Cambridge Audio dacmagic 100 In that case it is possible to try cheap bench linear power supplies that are everywhere in the 2nd hand market Unfortunately i do not have a scope at hand I think i should get one one day Thanks a lot again and best regards gino
@gino3286 hi I use my ears. You can check out the measurements on a forum Called audio science. I totally get it what you are saying about a 5v powered device chord do this with the quetest They increase the power to the analogue output stage not sure what to but the mojo is 7.5 v from 5v this is way better than a cambridge audio 100
@@jonasDoguedeBordeaux Hi thank you very much indeed for your kind and very valuable reply I am pretty sure that the Mojo is on another league And the price goes accordingly I like the su1 sound I will look for the linear voltage supply I know Teradak units Good brand indeed Kind regards gino
Hello there... Looks like that new SU-1 come with OPA1612 while older ones were with LME49720 and some folks who got both were dissapointed with new one ? Vissual difference.. My idea that older ones with BLUE leds are withe 49720 whine new su-1 with white LEDS have opa1612. Can you check which op-amp do you have on the pcb?
@@jonasDoguedeBordeaux dang.. my theory goes down with the water.. But, I made an order of TWO su-1 on 11.11 sales for 60$ each and waiting now to see what I will get.. For sure I will modify one and install it into diy pre-amp enclosure with low noise Lin. Psu while on 2nd one I will change op-amp and it will be stand alone device so there will be chance to compare them...
Hi Jonas I just came across your video and you sparked my interest. Was the only mod for the SU-1 just adding the power supply? If not can you tell me what else you did and what I would need to buy? I would greatly appreciate your help! Also, I read having one dac per channel could be beneficial. What's your thoughts on it? Thank you!
Can someone please tell me where to find these particular caps, I'm in the US and cant seem to find them? What is the name of these "box" caps, as I'm not familiar with them? Thank you!
Nice little upgrade m8. Still need a battery for my dac lol

Hi m8, do you think that Topping P50 will do a great job powering Wiim Pro+SMSL SU-1?
Hi mate the topping has a small transformer, yet the capacitors and voltage regulators seem canny
It shoul😊d do the job

Hi m8 what box caps there is a teradak power supply modified to power the dac
@@jonasDoguedeBordeaux I'm sorry, I don't understand your reply about the box caps. Can you also tell me how to mod the teradak power supply?
