I love love that you shared curriculum that’s different from what is so popular!! Looking into that LA! Will be so interested to hear what you think and see flip throughs of the science, LA, and the LitHouse learning guides. I had them on my ‘resources to remember’ list and happened to look into them just recently and fell in love. I’m reading the Heartwood Hotel series with my rising 2nd grader so I’m planning to do the accompanying study with the 3rd Heartwood Hotel book.
@@homeschoollifemom ill definitely do a flip through at the least, and plan on sharing my thoughts of the different curriculum I shared 😊 just gonna get into them a little bit first! I hope you guys have a great 2nd grade year, gosh the Heartwood Hotel series is so stinking sweet!
We love Rod and Staff math and it's so affordable, it almost doesn't matter that you aren't using a hand-me-down curriculum. Also, consider that the MP Enrichment can just be a package of vetted picture books to add to your home. Such a great program!
Thank you! Hopefully I can tackle a good routine with it all 😆 Is it the survival unit studies you mentioned in your second grade video for the novel studies? If not I'd love to know what else you're looking at!
@@MindfullyLiv I’m using those for my second grader yes! But I’m also using a few different ones for my 7th grader too. I’ve also thought about maybe using some Brave Writer darts with my 2nd grader too but we will see what I fit in next year.
That sounds like a great year of curriculum. I'm also planning on using Lithouse Learning with my 2nd grader. I bought the Level 0 for Heartwood Hotel and Level 1 for Ancient History.
I hadn't before looking into LA curriculums for my 2nd grader this year, either! I really hope we enjoy it and I didn't miss out on Rod and Staff English for nothing 🥲
@@Blessed_assurance-777 I would highly recommend the teacher resource- if you check out their sample lessons, it shows that it's not just a follow along for the student text, but really is necessary to apply the strategies for the different skills the child will learn each lesson as well.
Do any of you have experience with these curriculums?! Any second grade homeschool mamas out there, what are you using in your line up for the upcoming school year?!
I love that you share things that aren’t mainstream. I’m going to look into Purposeful Design.
@@Blessed_assurance-777 highly recommend downloading the sample lessons they offer for each grade level!

Yes to all of this!!
I can't wait for a flip through of the science!!!
@@TheRestfulHomeschool I'm excited to dive into it!
We are using Journeys this summer. They offered a bugs unit for free and its been fun.
@@simplyjen334 I saw they offered that! I'm happy to hear you guys enjoyed it!
Looks like a great year ahead! We are also doing some individual novel studies next year

Have you guys read the first in the series yet?! It's pretty darling. Excited to see how the novel units go!
@@MindfullyLiv No, haven't read it yet. This will be our introduction.
Would like to see a flip through of your language arts curriculum 😊
@@ashleyrogers3455 I definitely have plans to do that!!
I’d love a follow up on lithouse Learning! It looks well put together from what I can see.
I will for sure share my thoughts on the novel studies as soon as I get into them!!
I’m excited to hear how you like the journey homeschool! I’ve looked into it but decided not to use it this year
It looks pretty promising, now I just gotta print it all out and organize it 🤣 I'll do an update as soon as I have opinions on it!
It's a nice Presentation
I don’t think I’ve heard of purposeful design!

Do you need the teacher manual for the Language Arts?
