Unusual for a band entering their fifth decade as performers to sound so on it and to so clearly still love what they're doing. That enthusiasm and energy really feeds into the crowd enjoyment. Phil must have lived a clean life to preserve his voice to this standard, he sounds excellent. Great show and professional-level recording. Great job.

I liked a few of their songs after Dare but I kinda moved on to other bands by the time I was old enough to go gigging. I would love to see them now - watching this has reminded me how good they were and are! I liked Travelog and Reproduction too so Being Boiled is an extra treat! 😊❤✌

Nothing worse than coming home from an outstanding performance, putting the video on and the sound is atrocious. Thankfully, this time it's not too bad. So if you're not videoing, I certainly agree with you.
I was lucky enough to catch them kicking off their European tour at my local Pride for free a couple of weeks back - i went in agony wirh broken ribs and other physical problems and they all went away the second the first synth kicked in. This is a great recording but doesn't do them justice!!!!
You are right, my recording doesn't do their live performance justice. It only provides a glimpse of how good they really were. Glad you got to see them for yourself. Hope the ribs are getting better now.

practically every international artist flooded Australia in Febuary and March 2024. Way too many shows to keep up with. unfortunately we aren't all made of money! I did see Mr Bungle around the same time!
@@stephenjack437 There were certainly a lot of shows to choose from but this is often the case in those months. It's when the festivals are happening. Adding a tour onto a festival appearance makes the long trip a much better financial opportunity for the bands. Sadly, in the months following, there are far few international tours. I justify my over spending doing the first few months of the year by knowing that I won't be buying as many in the next few months, and the ones I do buy are likely to be cheaper local acts.

I just came from watching the 1981 video Open Your Heart and they sill sound the same. Phil's voice still so strong and he's getting close to 70 years old. Amazing.
Yes, when I'm seeing a band from the 80s, I always make allowances for the vocalist's voice. But I needn't have bothered with Phil. He still sounds terrific. And my video doesn't do justice to just how good he sounded on the night.
I am really glad to see this. I have seen The Human League twice. For the first time in Newport, South Wales, UK in 2008 (where they opned with 'Seconds' and Phil was wearing a black coat and hoodie) and at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011 for the Credo album tour. Lots of love and greetings from India.

@@Peter_LiveMusic Yes absolutely. You are quite right. We don't get such tours over here although the scenario has been changing a bit here in the past decade or so. However, post-punk and synth pop acts go off the radar here and it's the more mainstream chart topping pop and rock acts that continue to make the bill here... I think it is possibly also because there are so many other local distractions and film music as well. Unless, there are real pop-rock culture and musos who dig deep into the alternative scene, you wouldn't be surprised if very few of them even heard of such classic acts like The Human League or The Cure.
@@ajittffcure Sorry for the late reply. I just want to say that India has plenty of great music of its own and has been very influential on Western music from The Beatles onwards. It goes both ways.

I have seen them two times in Germany over the last years. The show is awesome. They have class and glamour, changing costumes the whole evening, great Projection and incredible sound. This Video is fine but you cant Imagine how it really feels when Being Boiled starts and the Synth just blows you away. Standing there with goosebumps caused by the enormous sound and wondering about your emotions changing from laughing to crying and back . Hopefully we will get an official Tour Bluray soon. ❤
Yes, an amazing performance. But I'm not sure ever an offical Bluray would capture that deep booming at the beginning of "Being Boiled". You have to be there to experience that.

Saw the same show in Adelaide. Fantastic! Took me back to being 16 with headphones in my bedroom. Now a few days later so many ear worms! Great quality, both sound and video. Thanks for posting. I don’t remember being at ANY show where the stereo separation was so good. The drums in particular. The sound techs did a good job that night.

Yes, I was a little worried about how good they'd sound. But they were surprisingly very good. My video sound is a little distorted. They actually sound much better. Definitely worth seeing if you get the chance.

Played my Dare pre recorded cassette to death in the early 80s..Then bought the vinyl and recorded that onto cassette which kept my original LP in mint condition. Bought it on CD, have the digital download BUT if I want to really enjoy it, I spin my original LP. PURE BLISS. I hope everyone enjoyed this stellar show in my most beloved City 💜💜🇦🇺

Played my Dare pre recorded cassette to death in the early 80s..Then bought the vinyl and recorded that onto cassette which kept my original LP in mint condition. Bought it on CD, have the digital download BUT if I want to really enjoy it, I spin my original LP. PURE BLISS. I hope everyone enjoyed this stellar show in my most beloved City 💜💜🇦🇺

Hope your wish comes true. You need to take an extended holiday in the UK and catch as many 80 bands as you can while you're there. I'd love to see Heaven 17 but they don't seem to leave the UK these days. We can both dream.
