    My shihtzu lived to be 17. She loved fresh cut up tomatoes 🍅 red beets and black olives and cheese cubes. Also made homemade chicken noodle soup for her. Kept it in the freezer for her at all times

    The most disturbing thing about this? That poor Shih Tzu begging constantly - who the heck would teach their dog to do that? It's wrong.

    • @MilwDaveX

      We had a pup that just did that on their own. We didn't teach her at all. I think it's something that comes natural to some dogs.

    Who on earth would give there dog raw bread dough! If anyone ever did, they should never be allowed to parent any animal. Strange, the amount of people that insist they know how to look after dogs , but end up making there poor dogs lives a nightmare. Everyone should have to take a knowledge test before ever being allowed parent one!

    I’m sure some fat on meat is fine, and needed in their diet. I raw feed my Shih tzu x toy poodle. Beef with some fat in the meat of course. Then she gets a couple of ziwi peak treats or or a lamb puff which is 100% dried lamb .. bite size for a treat. She has some cooked or raw egg sometimes, and some cooked pumpkin too after or with her meat for dinner. She’s not crazy about greens but will eat a tiny bit of broccoli or a couple of peas sometimes. Just given her some fish oil for her joints today, she a young dog but loves to jump off our bed. She loves licking coconut oil off of our legs too when we use it.

    I also give my dog a raw beef bone, they are sold as soup bones. I trim off most of the meat and she has that cut up for a meal (about 50grams) for her body weight. I always check for any small pieces of bone that is separated from the main part of the bone and trim it off so she doesn’t choke on that! These bones are great for her teeth. Raw meat too had enzymes to help clean their teeth.
    I also clean her teeth with dog toothpaste at night, especially if she’s had a lick or two of icecream on the odd occasion. I never give her bits of biscuits or cake … bad for them but instead give a little healthy dog treat instead. They don’t necessarily want what you are eating, but just to snack also like you are. Use a feed chart for your dog from the vet to make sure you don’t overfeed, and cause overweight and health problems, and be in for vet bills.

    This video is pure BS! Sorry to burst your bubble, but my 30 lb shit tzu has gotten into chocolate first time it was dark choc truffles about 4 while I was gone. Didn't know they were bad for him, he was our first dog. Another time he somehow got into a covered box where there were Halloween candy, Reese's choc covered and heath bars small wrappings still on them. We watched him, and he was fine. Never got sick either time. Another time he ate a small amt guacamole, and he once got into a bag of macadamia nuts and ate 1/3 leftover in the bag. Again, nothing! Then another time, someone had left dark chocolate on the livrm table wrapped up. He ate the rest of the leftover bar, about half. When I got home, he had chocolate on his mouth. So, I called the Vet, but didn't have $ to take him in. I kept watch on him, and he was a little lethargic. I got the idea about putting some charcoal bamboo which is supposed to get moisture out of the air, prevent mold from forming, but it ca also be used for binding to toxins, and taking them out thru elimination. So, they were chunks, but I ground them in my coffee grinder until they were smooth. Everything was coated in black. So, I put about 3 tsp's if it in his food, and he ate it. Of course his tongue and poops were black, but it did the trick, is breathing slowed, and he didn't seem dizzy anymore. So,if you find yourself worried about something your dog eats, try this method and see if it helps! Saved me alot of $$!

    • @mikeymoo1291
      @mikeymoo1291 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not the moral of the story at all. Most animals in nature rarely ever get cancer. Animals we domesticate do. A dog was never ever meant to eat wheat or high levels of carbohydrate. Most canned dog foods contain wheat (because it's a cheap filler) and you know what dog biscuit is.

      @Disco Head death is inevitable
      Why are you so dramatic?
      It's not like I give it to her, purposely.
      She's jealous of our outside cat, and hunts the food and eats it to keep the cat from getting to it.
      She also eats her own shit.
      What a pitiful reply

    I thought dogs can eat broccoli, what about boiled broccoli

    • @judybritt6288
      @judybritt6288 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @riolizsh...My vet told me it was OK to feed my overweight dog broccoli (he was a 23 lb. mixed breed, poodle/spaniel). In fact, she said it was healthy for him and he could have as much as he wanted (in addition to his dog food, not as his only food), while he was losing weight.
      He would not eat green beans, which most vets advise to feed a dog on a diet (reduce amount of dog food and add a bit of green beans to help them feel full).
      What prompted the vet's advice about broccoli was that I told her he wouldn't touch the green beans, but he begged for asparagus every time I steamed it. I knew asparagus is good for people, but didn't know if it was OK for dogs. However, even if OK, it was expensive to feed to the dog. She said yes, he could have some asparagus, but broccoli would be cheaper, so I could try that and see if he'd eat it. Turns out he loved steamed broccoli. The vet said never add salt, butter or any seasoning to the vegetable for my dog, just steamed, and plain. She said too much salt, sugar and fats was just as bad for dogs as it is for people; if dogs get too much of those things, it will have many of the same problems that people have when they eat too much of them.
      My dog loved steamed broccoli as well as the asparagus, and would eat it cooked or raw (and he did lose weight). If you boil veggies, you lose more of the nutrients. So, whether for a dog or human, steamed broccoli is more nutritious than boiled broccoli.
      All the other foods listed, I agree with. They are harmful to all dogs, not only Shih Tzus. Of course, with a smaller dog, it takes only a small amount of the wrong food to make them sick.
      I am not a vet. My information about "people" food, and what to not feed your dogs comes from the vets over the years who have cared for my dogs.
      I advise you to ask your vet about what foods, in addition to dog food, that they can have. Also, ask how much is OK to feed your dog at each meal. Some foods are OK for your dog, but only cooked a certain way, and given in small amounts; otherwise they could get diarrhea and become ill.

      @@aloysiouschng2252 It's nice to learn about how to care for our dogs, but I would always ask my dog's vet before I would take advice off the internet. After all, the vet knows your dog's health situation, and will give advice personalized for your dog.
      I wrote that my vet told me steamed broccoli was good for my dog. However, I think you should always ask and follow your vet's advice because he or she is the expert on your dog.

    Just give your beloved pet the necessary food in pellet form which pets shop o stores and vet med doctors recommend. Healthy dogs will notice if the food you give is foreign to their smell and sometimes they hesitate to eat it.

      Vets doesn't recommend raw feeding because they don't teach them in vet schools, plus the decades of marketing and advertising of pet food companies, antagonizes raw feeding.

      Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Kibble was invented by a guy who knew nothing about dogs OR nutrition and it’s dangerous garbage food.
      What on earth do you think dogs ate before dog food was invented back in the ‘30’s??!!
