I am so glad I can come back and appreciate Christianity after 40 years of Buddhist type meditation and seeking. Our Brother Thomas through his direct contemplative tradition cuts through the limited mainstream Christian view that rejected my thinking several times. I sincerely hope the teachings of the Christian mystics will be accessible to so many disillusioned people dearly in need in our society.

My spirit is deeply receiving this although my mind can’t understand it 😊

If I may, through time a feeling of connection is revealed intuitively at the heart level. As you said somehow you know your 'spirit is deeply receiving this', the difficulty can arise as to trusting this instinct within. There is a shift to balance intellect with 'heart' or compassion, in modern psychology, our right and left brain and nervous system, or traditionally the male and female characteristics.

Don't try to understand with the mind, but with the heart...❤

"it seems to me, from a metaphysical point of view that God is bringing us into
    18:38
those dispositions of divine life that are, of course, forgiveness, compassion, love of others,
    18:50
and a sense of the equality of everybody, and the responsibility for everybody, so that the only
    19:01
common sensical response is Oneness. Treat people as ourselves, or, at least, better than ourselves,
    19:12
and whatever you have, I have, and vice versa. Everything is held in common in God's eyes."

Thank you from heart depth for making this wisdom talk available to us. This is really advanced understanding and will bear repeated listening, The timing of this now is marvelous. Also, Keating is so amused that we can laugh with him--there's such gladness in him that we, far off and not even thought of--are all included in the great river of God's loving presence. Thank you.

OMG, he's out the gate! When was this filmed? The deeply realized synthesis of a fully ripened Christian mystic. Utterly amazing to receive this transmission.

well, just do the best you can do; you can't do any better than your best, because it is already the best you can do

What is this? This is interesting. It's not quite Christian but somehow still?

This is what should of been taught. Centring prayer / meditation.....being at one with just being

It's very much Christian, and this is on what monasticism is built, starting from the "Fathers of the Desert" of the 3rd-4th century. It was kept between the monasteries' walls for a very long time - not as a secret, but for lack of interest and understanding outside the monasteries. It became a "thing" in the early 60s when Thomas Merton started to write about the Christian meditation using terms borrowed from Buddhism. But's still Christian.

It is most deeply Christian while respecting the mystical/contemplative traditions of other religions.
