- The "Miklos Horthy and the Habsburg Prince" achievement is considered one of the most infamous in all of Hearts of Iron 4. Not only is Hungary a fairly difficult minor nation to play, the restoration of the Austria-Hungarian empire requires several lucky rolls of the dice to reach its full potential... and THEN you have to take on both the Allies and the Axis. Fortunately, you can mitigate the randomness somewhat with careful timing and cheeky maneuvers. So let's unleash this resurrected monstrosity on the world!

16:10 OK I have no idea if you’re ever going to read this but yes it’s 100% faster to spread them out! If you have them all on the same area they gain a massive penalty to their spy net work. first one is 1.0, Second one is 0.5, and the third one is even lower than that but I forget what number it is. I think it’s something very bad like 0.1. But if you spread them to different areas they are all 1.0. So yes when you asked that question I died inside XD

I literally finished an Austria Hungary playthrough just before this uploaded, went well. Took back all our claims, avenged the Great War by defeating the Serbs, Romanians, Russians, and Italians, though now I'm stuck in a forever war with Japan with no navy so I called it quits.
Treaty of Tianon gives -50% mil factory construction speed. Oof.
Gimli, right before Pravus clicking the Elect a King focus, proclaimed himself the new ruler of Habsburg.

Just got a gaming PC this week, I have no idea how to play this game but i love your videos Pravus!!! Hopefully one day i can learn the game and get some hard achievements done. Any chance of more CK3 playthroughs in the future?

Treaty of Trianon can be removed by either going to war with someone (can be done early through the focus that gives a war goal against Austria rather than the referrendum, but you're starting a war with the limitations of the treaty so... 🤔) or going down the Secret Rearmament branch to The Bled Agreement. Only other way is through the fascist branch.
Also, getting rid of it asap is good cause all of the penalties are rough, especially the construction speed penalty.
Honestly, I think the game speed controls Pravus' voice speed too...

I guess I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the only thing that is going to happen when you take Bohemia before Germany is that they will demand the Sudetenland from *you* instead.

When you cancel focus it should refunds up to 20 days so it's just a question of desynchronizing your focus from Germany and quick enough reaction if I understand it.

Here is a proposition for history-breaker. Let's create a Habsburg Central Europe with Poland. Elect a Habsburg king- unite with Czechoslovakia. And force Horthy's Hungary to elect cousin Otto and Romania to give back Transylvania. In most playthroughs Yugoslavian regent asks to join Habsburg alliance. Gosh, It'll be cool and glorious!
There is a thing called "Spy Network coverage" and it's better to spread operatives. You can always move them in another province, if you need.

About the Habsburgs: the main line of the von Habsburg family died out (mostly due to inbreeding) in both Spain (with the infamous Charles II), and Austria (with Charles IV in male line 40 years after Spain). The last Habsburg monarch from the main branch was Maria Theresa, the archduchess of Austria. How come then, that the Austrian Empire was ruled by the Habsburgs? Well, MAria Theresa was a woman, and the electors of the HRE would not make her an Empress, as such she was forced to marry the duke of Lorraine, Francis. Francis became the Holy Roman Emperor, but his sons did not use the name of his family, but instead combined it with the name of their mothers family, creating the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.
Why is it called Austria-Hungary, instead of Hungary-Austria? - Because Austria was an empire, while Hungary "just" a kingdom. Higher title takes precedence.
Deny giving Germany the Sudetenland or no balls!!!! Tbh the monarchist path as hungary to reform the Austro-hungarian empire is probably the most fun you can have in Hoi4 imo

It's for historical reasons that Hungary can restore Habsburgs, since Otto, as well as his father Karl, were legitimate claimants, and had Horthy ACTUALLY allowed Karl to return in 1920s, the kingdom would've been restored.
Austria cannot restore the monarchy because their socialist government deposed Karl.

Can you do the “He who Bears the Throne” Achievement? It’s pretty hard. You have to fight the Axis and the USSR.

Pravus you can do achievrment when you play as czechoslovakia and conqered Australia or the munkch disagreement

But as Czechoslovakia, there's a ticking timer where Germany demands the Sudentan lands, whereas Hungary can integrate Czech and avoid the demands entirely.
