Thank you for the great content! Unlike some other Arsenal related channels, this falls neither to the side of unwavering praise or deconstructive negativity. There's a middle ground, pointing out where to improve, while observing where things have gone right, and seeing the progressive trajectory.

One thing that a lot of people don't get, and you can tell when they say stupid crap like Lee Gunner's "sell the lot of them" nonsense, is that Arteta clearly believes we are still in phase 3 despite the title run-in (that's important). He kept his starting 11 as consistent as he could to force time on the pitch together between all of his players working through the familiarity factor. We see this a lot with Pep. The first year someone is at the club, they really don't play compared to the 2nd year they are at the club (see Grealish last year and Kalvin Phillips this year). That first year is just working through the familiarity of movement and processing speed. Last season we could see Arsenal moving through the paces too slowly. This year, much much quicker and it took people by surprise just how good Arsenal were. Why? The evidence was there last year. Arteta said earlier in the season, the best players are expected to play 40+ games a year. They can't be tired. So he isn't rotating as much to force them to develop that flexibility to play every 3-4 days. It's endurance training. These are all things that take a year or more to build. Newcastle is a prime example of the fitness aspect. Last year, they were good, but you could tell towards the end of games they collapsed into exhaustion so he was having to substitute a lot more than he does this season. Brighton is going through that at the moment, where De Zerbi has to substitute 5 people. Pep? Sometimes he doesn't substitute at all. Arteta mirrored that behavior earlier in the season and started making substitutions earlier in the games later in the season. This is all indicative of Arsenal still being in development mode versus Pep's maintenance mode.
What will be the main indicator that Arteta thinks we've moved beyond Phase 4 is when he starts using a variety of different systems at the beginning of the year to challenge his players and build their familiarity with games on the line the way Pep does. Because after the halfway point, Man City change their tune from changing systems whole sale to a singular consistent system and changing aspects of their play within that system. This let's them go on their 14+ games unbeaten streaks. When Arsenal is doing that, Arteta will have finished his development phases.

Level headed analysis. Most things worth doing at the upper echelons of success require meticulous planning, understanding the fine margins and a bit of luck. Mikel isn't making excuses, he's being honest. Longevity is sustained through a process. Instant gratification has made many of us undervalue the work it takes to be excellent. Many of our players improved objectively and are performing closer to the top end than most would give credit. Yes room for improvement - Mikel admits this too but there's much to appreciate also.

It has always been clear from the first season that Mikel is a perfectionist and will not stop raising the bar for the club and the players. That is why, even when he finished 8th, I was more than happy for him to get a long contract. I have never doubted him.
The improvement is not a fluke but deep planning and surgical execution!

Only two minutes in but the difference is very clearly depth, and time. If we manage to not lose anyone, add 2 to 3 players for the next 3-4 years and get the players to gel. City really aren't all that over us, there is just more tactics in fluidity and when injuries hit they don't have to make do with championship players like Holding, Elneny and Vieira

You'd be blind to ignore the fact they signed the most prolific striker in world football who broke the goalscoring record on his debut and also have KDB. It would be like us signing prime Messi now. It's not a given, but it's almost expected. We almost clinched the title with a bunch of youngsters, because Arteta has the ability to train youngsters, he doesn't need to buy proven players to succeed. We won't win it next year either, but maybe the year after once KDB starts to decline and Haaland fancies going to Madrid

Championship players like Holding, Elneny and Vieira. What a clown. The first 2 are decent squad players, but not good enough for us to compete for a title. Vieira is a kid in his first year. He's adjusting to the league, in the same way Odegaard did in his loan year.

    • @urdaeatmoths
      @urdaeatmoths ปีที่แล้ว

@@anish87 It's delusional stupidity like this which is why the average fan is too optimistic. Holding and Elneny would probably do super well in the championship, I assume they'd be in promotion teams but they're not even making man citys bench, behind the 18 year old kids. I love them both as servants, but you either cut the cord and have depth in quality (think City have Foden, Mahrez, United have Rashford, Eriksen, even Brighton have some quality in depth). We have started having Trossard and Jorginho, both quality subs and if we keep Nelson and Patino/Balogun that would be huge. 'execution, maturity, character' - one of the the things about Pep Guardiola is his ability to recognize certain traits that suit his coaching style in terms of player disposition. He has said before that he can find great players anywhere in the world but what are they like in the dressing room. It's a wholistic approach. Then you have to mold the team. Big job. City have also spent big and this has put the task of catching them out of the reach of many clubs. Very shrewd. It could take years. Settle in for the long haul. Great channel. i think we still are a gap behind financially, like the Mudryk bid and Grealish signing comparison. They activated Jack's 100M release clause, which meant it was full 100M upfront, our (around 100M mark) Mudryk bid was 70-80M (different number from different sources), structured with installments and bonuses which was why Shakhtar rejected the bid and accepted Chelsea's 'similar amount' bid as Chelsea structured the deal more favourable to Shakhtar.
as for 'recruiting properly', no one would know for sure. Like Fabio Vieira, he was great for Porto and performing on CL, we thought we secured a emerging talent but that didn't translate well to the prem. Even in the same league like Cucurella, he was Brighton's player of the season, what happened? For Akanji's case, sure we could have get in contact with him but when City comes in calling, the answer is obvious innit, especially last summer when we missed out on CL. My point is no one would know for sure whats gonna happen in a transfer so just saying 'recruit properly' and pointing out Akanji's case feels shallow.
but yes, i do agree with most of the stuffs you said on the channel

Its increased almost 100% since City were spending 250 mill a season 5 or 6 years ago and they still have alot of those players.
City got Gundogen and Silva for less than a Mudryk. If they were around today, they'd cost twice as much.

you can just be smart with your investment, e.g brighton scouting and transfer team is really" good.

most of city's expenses is on the defender, so hard to find a good fullback/CB who played from the back with risk. even then Ben Mendy and Cancelo left City.
Typicially you can find a good midfield and attacker without spending much

    • @alzer6467
      @alzer6467 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@haihao2942 Arsenal do not want to be Brighton. They get praise for their scouting because they don't have the pressure of having to win. They can play unknown players and allow them to develop.
United were offered Caicedo for 5 mil before Brighton. Big teams are aware of the players that Brighton get, they just can't afford to wait for them to develop. They might buy one or 2 "development" players a season, but they really need the finished product.
Also Rice will become the best number 6 in the world. Mount is a good player but not the same level and there are plenty of options in his position. Rice is a level raiser and game changer for Arsenal.

@@alzer6467 not sure about best no 6. Similar to grealish, they're playing very good but i think 70mil is fair price 100 is english tax lol..
and even with inflation coming i think given the situation of how gundo and silva is signed, it won't affect much of their price.
I was skeptical of gundo's fitness since he has a lot of injury during his time in dortmund, yes he's good but tons of injury per season. for silva we know he's good but the world pay attention to mbappe saga instead of him, so Bakayoko, mendy and silva got snatched with cheaper price
you could get 1 box to box and 1 Defender with the price of Rice (rumored 100-120 mil), even rodi only cost about 55-60

Dogs have been used for special tasks since the dawn of humankind, and (alongside cats) have become effective emotional support animals in the past few decades (altho they have had the same function the entire time, it wasn’t made to be as specific as this).

We have to act smart in the transfer market.
Nketiah has to go. And I would prefer to also sell Balogun for a profit.
To replace them, either we should sign someone similar to Jesus and Trossard. Players like Gouiri FerranTorres Vidovic(from Bayern) Felix BrahimDiaz or Olmo (Firmino is not quite possible and probably too old)
Or alternatively, we should go for someone more physical (but yet also very technical) like Hojlund or Schick.
Nelson and Pepe are going to leave. SaintMaximin or Chukwueze would be great wingers to have.
Try to sell Xhaka Niles Lokonga Elneny.
Rice and Caicedo are overpriced, we should allocate the budget better.
Neuhaus Asensio MacAllister Maddison Brandt Unuvar Ziyech, or even Puig Roca Ceballos would be great options. Gundogun on a free can also be a good signing.
Sign Tonali or DeJong to bench Partey.
Sell Tierney. Cancelo has no resale value because of his age, and he will cost quite a lot. Guerrerio is yet to extend his contract, so he could be a cheaper option.
We don’t have an attacking right back, Fresneda or Devyne can become our Zinchenko on the right.
Holding has to go. Schlotterbeck Scalvini or Andersen would be great signings.
So here is around 7 signings in total. We don’t need a big bench. A small bench with first team quality versatile players is what we needed.

While I would like to see Declan in an Arsenal kit next season, all the rumours and reports scream… media signing! Is it a “Here we go” or a “Here we go again?” Watching Rice sign for Chelsea and Caicedo sign for Aston Villa is the nightmare that now lingers.
On paper, Rice adds to our midfield in Granit’s absence, but at what cost? He’s a proven talent, with all the attributes to have the statisticians drooling over their laptops, but at the cost of around a third of Arsenal’s total speculated transfer budget (including fees from potential player sales) can Rice bridge the ravine between 2nd and 1st?
Will Rice, or the like, be Arsenal’s only signing? No, I’m sure there will be others, but will the KSE spend the big bucks?
Can Arsenal ship the 8-15 players still bleeding our wage budget and failing to contribute to our progress. In one window I doubt it.
Historically we’ve been diabolical at demanding high fees for the players we ship out, and that’s if we can move them on in the first place. I expect nothing to change.
This leaves us with a miserly budget if we’re going to shop around in a market consisting of our direct competitors, considering we will need to sign between 8 to 16 players to have a chance of competing in two competitions this season.
After measured consideration, including competitors and playing time limits as factors, it appears that Arsenal will require the recruitment of top quality players in the following roles, if they are to improve on the results of this season:
    GK x 1
    CB x 2
    LB x 1
    RB x 1
    CDM x 2
    CAM/CM x 2
    LW x 1
    RW x 1
    ST x 2
A total of 13 new faces in addition to our strongest starting eleven. Perhaps Nottingham Forest can be forgiven for turning so many heads with their transfer activity this season!
There’s a very good reason BM FCB and MC all won things before pep arrived, they’re called “Quality Players.”
Rice might give Arsenal a box to box ball winning neat passer, but we will still lack bite!
Yes we were awful against NFFC and yes we had injuries and deflated players out of position, BUT, where are our game changers?
Saka is going to get double teamed like he did against Brighton, Odegard will get similar treatment next season. One injury to Martinelli and we are mid table!
What many fans have pointed out in the past is still haunting us to this day… Our recruitment has been awful. While we have managed to bring in a few gems over the last few years, asking Arsenal to sign the kind of talent that can elevate us to championship status is like asking your kids to suggest a few good movies to watch. While you might temporarily enjoy what you think you’ve got, in the end you know you should have chosen winners.
With names like Lautaro Martinez, Xavi Simons, Moussa Diaby, Moises Caicedo, Rafael Leao, Mohamed Simakan, Romeo Lavia, Mohamed Kudus, Jonathan David, and Piero Hincapie, likely to remain unspoken by Arsenal employees during this summers transfer window, most fans can expect to be underwhelmed by either one or two £90m+ signings or a light peppering on lesser known bench warmers to ride their way into a fight for top four.
Without spending upwards of £400m, can Arsenal really expect to compete with MAN CITY in four competitions next season. Not to mention the threat of much improved squads, teams, tactics and performances from the likes of Newcastle, Man U, Liverpool, Brighton, Villa, Chelsea, even Tottenham!
In my opinion, Yes… Yes they can! But there is a huge shadow from the caveat that looms over that statement, and that is the question!
Can we be first? Can we be first to the players who will undoubtedly be signed by Real Madrid, Man City, Brighton, Dortmund? Can we be bold enough to do what the great Arséne also failed to do during the latter years of his tenure at the club? Can we buy players who will rip through defences? Can we buy players who will lash the ball into the back of the net in anger? Can we buy players who will annihilate the silky patterns of our opponent’s play? Can we buy fierce, humble, focused, dedicated ballers who will die for the badge?
Or should we just light the barbecue now and rest our hopes and dreams on the shoulders of a few good men for one more season?
There’s more, but for now… Let me know what you think!?

I understand the need for signing smart & not expensive but Arsenal are at a point were we have enough young upcoming talent in Saka, Gabi, Odegaard & Saliba, & at this point we need proven quality players like Rice, Caicedo, Raphnia/Gnabry/Diaby to raise the ceiling of these players. Adding Gundogan for free is a shrewd signing but that can't be our Marquee signing of the summer.
Edit - We need atleast 3-4 top quality players 1st & then we could think of adding shrewd signing to enhance the squad.

Sell sterling, zinchenko, GJ9 and buy Haaland and Alvarez who combined are cheaper than what Kane, Vlahovic or Osimhen would be sold for individually. @@Regeneratero We don't have Sterling. And Alvarez & Haaland are secured Long term at Man City. These types of young player only works when you have your foundations set i.e defence & midfield like Man City. @@thierryhenry674 Your namesake would understand that the foundations need to be set right at Arsenal i.e the Midfield & defence which will take good amount of investment just like Man City did in 2017. Then we can sign cheaper younger talent to get legs & intensity but foundational quality requires Money which we have so spend it right now when the Club's stock is at its highest. Need atleast 3-4 top quality players no excuses will be acceptable.

    • @thierryhenry674
      @thierryhenry674 ปีที่แล้ว

We are miles off ManCity in terms of technicality. Require at least 7 players to sign in order to upgrade our technicality.
Look at us, other than Jesus Trossard Jorginho Zinchenko Saliba, who else is close to as skillful and as silky as Iniesta Xavi Busquets on the ball? ManCity have like 18 players close to that level in terms of silkyness on the ball.
Bench both Martinelli and Saka.
Maybe also FacundoMedina.

Arsenal can not reach City's level with Arteta, unfortunately Arteta needs to complete his apprenticeship yet, he hasn't got the experience, courage and ingenuity as Citys Pep and Brighton's Roberto. He is not smart, proven by buying Peps rejects, Jesus who can not score, Zinchenko who can not defend.
Arsenals weekly wages £98,000,000 versus Brighton's weekly wages total is £36,000,000. And Brighton demolished Arsenal, 3 - 0; I don’t need to say any more.
Arteta hasn't got the courage to rotate his players, and let them rust away, only push the bench warming players in panic, in 80th or 85th minutes, this doesn't work. Sala has become ghost player in the last 10 weeks, yet Arteta keeps him in the first 11 and for 90 mins, while Nketiah, Nelson, Rowe Smith are waiting to get descent playing times.
I expect players like Rowe Smith, Kieran, R Nelson, Nketiah will be leaving soon. He loaned away Bolagun who is one of the top scorer in France, much much better striker than Jesus. Had Arteta bring Bolagun, we wouldn't spent the buying money for Jesus, neither pay him nearly £300,000 per week as his wages. I reckon Jesus can serve us better by replacing Xhaka as a mid field player, but not as a striker. Remember, Arteta wanted to keep Saliba on extended loan in France, who now presented as the major reason of Arsenal balloon bursting, crumbling against the relegation zone teams. Arsenal lost to Southampton, who had no chance to survive relegation. Arteta is not a creative coach, every week he comes with the same game plan, every coach in PL knows what he has told to his each player, very simple to make our players ineffective.

Definitely weaknesses for me in terms of backup:-
    GK 2
    CB x2
    RBx1
    CMx2
    AMFx 1
    CDMx1
    RWx1
    CFx1
There's both alot of selling necessary and alot of buying to do, because beyond the starting 11, the squad is nowhere near Arsenal quality in my opinion. Even that starting 11 is barely good enough and will be exposed in the Champions League next season.
    If you're listening Arsenal:-
    Ins
    GK - Marmadashvili
    CB - N 'Dicka/Upamecano
    RB - Upamecano can cover
CM - Tielemans (on a free); Szoboszlai; Caicedo (GET IT DONE)
    AMF - Ljajic
RW - Keep Pepe unless you can find someone better, he can still net you around 15 goals a season for all the frustration!
    CF - Vlahovic or Zirkzee
This will not break the bank, the club will still have money left over and the squad will be much stronger. LW may possibly also need a bit of a shakeup with one more person competing.

Arsenal need depth. So Arsenal's strongest XI on paper is Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Saka and Jesus. No disrespect but Zinchenko, Xhaka and Jesus are clear and obvious weak links. All good at certain things but Zinchenko is a liability in defence, Xhaka is hit and miss from game to game and Jesus is a poor finisher. All 3 of those positions need to be upgraded and same can be said about Partey but people have been harsh to him lately as his form dipped and he got dropped. Putting aside the starting 11, the bench is also sub-par when compared to City. Barring Tomiyasu, Jorginho, Tierney, ESR and Trossard it is all players that aren't good enough to step in for others in the case of injury, suspension or dip in form. Turner, Holding, Kiwior, Lokonga, Vieira, Elneny, Nelson, Nketiah or loanees like Tavares, Pepe, Mari, Runarsson, Niles, etc are all not good enough for a top 4 race let alone a title race. Balogun is probably the only loaned out player that MIGHT have potential. But even that is a gamble. Arsenal need an upgraded LB, CDM, CM, ST and needs more depth at GK, RB, CB, CAM, RW. That is alot of stuff not because it is what is required usually but because CIty are literally perfect from top to bottom as a squad. I can geniunely see City dominate as long as we have a KDB, Haaland, Pep combo in that club. If one of those three leaves then it might be broken but till then it will be City winning the PL over and over again.
