Sensors are the devices used to detect the reflected/emitted energy. There are main components of sensors such as diffraction grating, filters, detectors, spectrometer and spectro radiometer. Active and passive are main types of sensors used in remote sensing.
Active sensors have their own source of light and passive sensors use naturally available light of sun.
