the beautiful thing is most of the time, Brez told abt how good Dice and thought Dice will be a biggest candidate to win gbb that time. And also Dice told in his iv that Brez is kne of his favorite looper!
Dice is one of the most creative, emotional, technical loopers out there… Actually he is a perfect looper for me now! I’ll keep checking out what he brings on soon…

It definitely could be cool to see two separate categories in loop one day as I must admit the contrast between multiple devices and single devices was pretty huge. Plus more categories would mean more content at the GBB:)

@@denelpohlishan5530 yes bizkit won with one device... but the Dallas mavericks won the 2011 NBA championship with one superstar, it can happen, but it's extremely difficult when you're going up against players (or in this case loopers) who have objectively better equipment and are less limited in their creative processes. I am also personally on team two categories. I know some will say it will devide the community, but is it not already divided anyways? This way there is more content like you said, and also, almost everybody will be happy. (Also brez would win almost every single gbb loop title in single device 🤣)

I have been listening to beatbox content most days since 2012. This video brought a tear to my eye. Not because Im sad but because of an almost euphoric sense of pride. We have brought loop here. This IS beatbox.

Yo brez, I know you said you don't want to react to yourself, and I do respect that. However, I feel like it would be cool if you were to do a breakdown/analysis of your Elim, perhaps explaining why you did what you did when you did, or what you could have improved on, maybe something unexpected happened? (And yes I saw your Elim on livestream already) either way I respect your decision, I just think it would be cool for those of us who either don't loop, or are new to it (myself included) and perhaps we could take pointers from one of the best on stage, and use that to improve our own sets.
bruh your loopstation battle against NME was insane the first beat was f-ing ridicoulus and you combined that with rapping it was insane nice work i am a big fan off gbb in general but i like watching beatboxers,i know to beatbox too but i am not that good at it

Ever since the use of second devices are allowed, i feel that loopstation showcases have evolved so much that it becomes too hard to judge in the same categories with single loopers. I still feel that a separate category is needed, but make it a music showcase battle instead of the old school style battle.
Not gonna lie but i do miss the old single device battles like Saro, MB14, Tioneb, Penkyx, Ibarra, Thorsen ( just to name a few) in the past.
True I miss battles in old times but I also enjoy nowadays battle even more tbh
At least we still have 2 upcoming single device battle which im excited for
You gave the best solution I couldn't think of when I'm establishing my opinion on DICE's performance. I 100% agree that they should have a separate category with the multiple device users having a showcase competition, while the single device user roster can have themselves go straight to battles. With this, we will have a clear distinction between the "human beatbox" loopstation and and also the device-reliant showcases while also enjoying the music both categories bring in the same event.

I LOVE Dice and his music VERY MUCH however I feel it's really kinda different from what we knew as "beatbox loopstation" though. It's in somewhere middle between the beatbox loop and DJing. It is totally ridiculous that one of the top-notch looper says he cannot even judge or analyze what is going on with the technical aspect.
I love Dice's amazing tracks. The new musical era he brought is huge. but at the same time I think what he's doing should be sorted as different category. If there's actually no limit with those multiple devices then imagine what Gene shinozaki would bring when he participate as a looper. In some showcases he plays freaking guitar, electronic drums, electronic pianos, some pad shit (dont know the name) all connected to rc505 and also using the beatbox sound. But no one says that showcase as a "beatbox loopstation".

I really love Dice elimination but when I look at the comment section (including Frosty elimination), some stated that looping nowadays have lose it's essence.
Basically saying that most loopers would use effects or second device to create tracks, not by using their beatbox skills

Its just how things go in life, things evolve with technology. You can't stay behind forever with the old limitations.... Of course they can make an rc505 only category to keep it, but even with the new features of the mk2.. It's already more produced then pure Beatbox. As example the harmony fx or the oscillator fx

Atleast we still have 1v1 2v2 its still pure beatbox, lets just take Loopstation battle as a new evolution for us! And not all the loopers are using too much effects, so we can still enjoy some who doesn't use effects.😉

You can if you want, nothing stopping you 👍 but if we’re going to have loopstation battles, not just pure showcases, then 2nd device stuff is absolutely worth discussing to make sure everything’s fair

Of course its looping. You mean its no more beatboxing to you. Looping will for sure separate in beatbox-looping/producing

using many devices will not guarantee you anything if you don't know how to use and manage them. People also think for some odd reason that if someone uses mk2 he's using multiple devices, it's just a single device like mk1. And yes people will use external devices as plugins for mk1 and mk2 but it doesn't mean they will win, gbb21 loop champion is a great example xP
I honestly don't see why someone would think that mk2 counts as a multiple\second device and I never saw someone saying it either , the main thing here is not the skill of using multiple devices but the fact that he mention it ..at some point this is more like a different style\competition because theres very little of beatboxing envolved on such a artificial" sound\music and I'm not saying that I dont like or enjoy the music but it doesnt make sense to match the same people in the same style\competition
It’s sad that dice had audio issues, I wanted to see what else he had past the quarter finals and if he could’ve won
he also underestimated Chris, its a little his fault too for not going 100% but the sound issues is something everyone had to deal with

Of course you cant compare Dice with Slizzer, but in the end: Should we compare? In the end both do music and both make people vibe or connect with the music in a different way. No matter you use 4 or 1 device.
I see what you mean and normally in music you wouldn’t but you end up having to compare the two when it comes to a competition.
Well, it's a competition and you have to evaluate participants so of course you compare 😅
@@Wiiry Depends on how you judge. I dont like judging in categories like they did for online battles. I dont think we should think in categories and give points for fullfilling certain aspects. We should just listen to ourselfs, which performace was more impressive and gave me a special feeling? Thats it. We shouldnt make science out of art.
Maybe you say "Yeah but you can make much better music with more devices". We shouldnt ignore the fact that its more impressive how MB14 or Tom Thum were looping than watching frosty, dice etc. Its natural and pure talent, building these harmonies is magical, you cant reach that with any machine. I just wanna make clear that we should enjoy all forms of looping and stop dividing the scene.
All this and I'm just sat wondering where the North Korean loopers are?

Honestly i can't understand why it's still in the same category as one device because of the price of the devices, i mean a line 6 is 1500 €, so basically here dice have 2000 € on his table, very few people can afford it

@@fut4ba_cs solo beatboxers also makes music, dj also makes music, but we don't make a category for everybody because having a dj set makes it easier to perform a good music than a 2 device user, who is also privileged compared with a solo device, who is privileged compared to a solo beatboxer
Yes biskit won, just like handicapped people can beat healthy people, but it doesn't mean that they are as favoured. He hadn't won because he was helped by his mk1, but just because his level was way ahead of the rest of the competition and I can bet that if he had a powerful (and expensive) second device he would have crushed the competition like saro did, and not have close battles like he had

- in 2019 inkie should have won but lost because judges though the device was too powerful and believed it was cheating so we can't say it was a solo device win, because sadly rythmind should have been against inkie and probably lost before hearing his 2 rounds in small final
- this year, I've already explained why we can't say he had any privilege with his mk1
@@lifeisoverrated7167 but then look at frosty, in the final he couldn't use the second device correctly, dice also had some issues here too with it. Does it allow for more diversity that isn't possible on the MK1? Yes. But does it take away skill? Not really. Frosty and Dice both had multiple examples of failing to use them properly and it shows they aren't some omnipotent cheat.

Many say how more devices makes it more easy, how it is a big advantage over a single device etc. Ok I'm going to disprove this: using more devices at the same time is not easy it can be harder to manage more devices than one single device. A setup with multiple devices has only one advantage and this is automation but not all devices have this function, it's used for example when making arpeggios instead of layering your voice you can automatize with a device using only one note. Does it sound more cleaner? Yes it can but again you need to have a device that will filter the audio to make it crisp and not all loopers use extra filtering devices, it also doesn't mean it will make a song 200% better each time cuzz filters can also make songs plain instead of full.
And one more thing people think more devices means only adding fx's. The basic principle is for both situations for single and for multi devices where most loopers use a lot of fx's to make more crazy sounds as possible. A good example of using many fx's is Saro, the greatest looper in beatbox scenary using only single device. You see where this is going? Using many devices is not that much different from the "traditional" single usage in terms of how to use it.
There are also loopers with minimal fx's usage like MB14, a pure beatbox looper that make's loop samples with his voice and only some reverb on the top, that's it.
I agree that single device and multi devices should be seperate catagories with judges that are also experts in their own single/multi field.

No, he accidentally caused a feedback issue, you can see Inkie notice and waits to see if dice intentionally caused it or by accident, meanwhile Dice's reaction very quickly shows it wasn't intended.
Check how the judges reacted to it and how Dice quickly went back to fix it.

@@chiqs2833 it's easier to make more stuff in the same time than with a single device if you're searching for this answer. Overall to make a good routine it's s not easier cuzz you still have to know what you are doing and how it is supposed to sound at the end. You can make it easy or you can make it hard either way on a single or multiple devices.

Day 1 asking BreZ to react to himself
Brez I 100% respect your view however I feel that the second device argument doesn’t hold up. Here’s why. As someone who has used 5, second devices all the way from helix to Roland vt4. I can say that second devices do not make you better. They give you more options for sounds, that’s all. Biz kit is proof of this. Every competitor that biz kit went up against had “superior devices” however he won every one of them 5-0. In fact in some ways second devices are more difficult because since it’s so pre programmed there is less room for error during live. I think for wildcard competitions there is a definite slight advantage going towards second devices because a better mix or slightly more details can is picked up and studied upon by judges. On stage or through live streams it’s almost irrelevant because very small details like mix get overlooked, and because of the aforementioned downside. I do agree there should be 2 categories though. One for unlimited devices and one for rc 505 only. Just wanted to give my perspective since there are so many people on the other side. Thanks for reading :)

This makes me think that mk2 might become a threat to mk1 rather than second device because mk2 could produce tracks with good balance between raw power and great sound quality

There's really no technical aspect when a machine is ready with pre-sets when triggered & activated. The synth melody pattern could have easily been ready & propped up once activated with his voice, that's why we didn't see him construct the melody pattern in real time or live in the moment for that matter. These machines are smart & sneaky to the untrained eye & ear of the judges. Not too impressed to say the least, knowing that the rc-505 is capable to reek havoc upon such a huge crowd when used accordingly. So this was very chill & safe from major mistakes which matches Dice's genre?
The only thing wrong is the lack of actual beatboxing.
