    This is so important to teach something to young people that is so useful, in a hands on way that keeps them engaged. Great job.

    I would like more details on the exact nute regimen. I personally use a 3 part and put some kale in with some small tomato plants recently on a light/mild nute strength and they all root rotted and dried up and died pretty quick. The tomatos are killing it, absolutely over growing me quicker than I can keep up with it. Not sure of the exact ppm, I've been doing the tomatos for so long I just measure what my schedule says and go with it, haven't been checking the ppms in a long time.
    Can you give me specific details on a 3 part nute mix?

    Hi Thomas, did you ever get any of the kale to "bolt" to collect seeds?

    I have a question. There are more nutrients in earth approx.51. Much less in hydroponic solutions, do you know best practices for hydroponic nutrients & the comparable nutrient density of the kale

    Great video< what are those little balls you are using as medium?

    I don't know what a grow or nutrient light cycle is. Can you explain how you cycle the lights?

    • @KateInTheCity
      @KateInTheCity 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cannot speak for Thomas but, in general, your light cycle is just how long and what time of the day you have your lights on. Many people use timers to handle this but you can do this manually of course. Personally, I always have my lights on for 16 hours a day, which pretty much mimics your average sunny summer day. Some people change their lengths and timings dependent upon how far matured the plants are and the variety.

    200 ppm so you just add ph down?

    did you just say 200ppm for kale? i grow kale from 1000ppm -1200ppm on my hydropoics

      +Eri Ray White Pecatu Specifically Dwarf Kale taste best when grown at low ppms. High Nitrogen with dwarf kale will cause a below average taste similar as high ppm with lettuce. It grows just as fast as high ppms yet taste much better.

      thanks, i'm just beginer in hydroponics, when i grow kale at 200ppm, it grows really slooww.... mostly get bigger when it touch 1000ppm, i dont know, maybe because i live in tropical island.

      +Eri Go Green are you using a A/B mix or 3 part mix? I hand mix my own nutrients and focus just on micro-nutirients and nitrogen. This allows the 200ppm to consist mainly of nitrogen which allows the plant to grow fast without high ppms and improves taste. If you are using pre-made mixes then they will contain other nutrients that would cause your ppms to get high before you see fast growth. Saw you videos too keep up the good work!

    well of course you dont want to spend your summers going to work. That would be so stupid... I mean most people work through summers , but to a teacher this is a silly thing to do. Teachers vegetate during the summer , dont they ?
