I watched alot of Oversimplified videos lately (you should too, that guy explains history in an extremely simple and funny way) and with him uploading a vid about the Napoleonic Wars, I noticed some more of one of my favorite moments in the series, namely running away when the enemy approaches. So I decided to pick out every time he did that. Hope yall find this funny! Also sorry for the bad video quality, no idea why that is, nor can I do anything about it that I can think of.

To be fair, Bernadotte probably has a good reason for running away from the boss he betrayed.
Bernadotte didn't betray anyone. He asked for Napoleon's approval before taking the Swedish throne, and Napoleon released him from his duties to France. After that, his primary allegiance was to the Swedish people, not some French King he once served. They were not on the best terms anyway, but that is irrelevant. Bernadotte's actions were fully justified. It's like saying George Washington betrayed the British just because he fought for them in the seven years' war.
@@atrajitroy1 Well Napoleon more or less expected Bernadotte ascending to the Swedish throne despite both having not so best terms with each other would backfire against him.
@@atrajitroy1 but Washington did betray the British, as did all the other founding fathers. They British definitely viewed the American Revolution as a treasonous war.
@@brandonholmes8485 in the eyes of the British, yes, but the British would justify anything undermining their rule to be treasonous. In their eyes, even rebellions like the Indian mutiny of 1857 were considered to be treason, even though it makes even less sense because those guys weren't even 'originally British' like many Americans were. I'm talking about Benedict Arnold-esque betrayals. Neither Washington nor Charles XIV John aka Bernadotte did anything of that sort. Certainly not Bernadotte at least.
