    Great home theater Connor. Tapped Horns can produce some massive bass even when using a single 12" sub due to bass waves being long and adding the long "port" allows for maximum output at the peak of the bass wave. Super clean setup. Nicely done sir.

      @@connorj6580 You should put a spl mic in your theatre an see what #'s that thing puts out. My truck does a 148.9 with 2 15's. My mini van did a 150.3 with 8 12's. You can't imagine how happy I was to see somebody incorporate car audio subs into their theater. Watching that video really made my night.

    I love seeing these tours. Never thought some of these things could happen in one's home not too many years ago. Just changing to a decent projector from a TV & getting a solid 7.1 system was an amazing upgrade for our previous apartments. Now I'm in the planning stages for more in our new house. Just getting finances in order. Got to balance theater stuff w/ PC builds & my motorcycle. :)

    I'm building an eerily similar sized and configured theater now... wondering if that screen size is right though... I had been looking at 120-ish... 150 seems a bit big for that depth room.. Since you were in the room and watching different media (movie vs. gaming, etc), was it comfortable? I have had 120" screens in the past, but 'modern' projectors are also A LOT nicer these days haha.
    That riser though... Better not show this to my wife haha

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think it’s great! I think distance is a very subjective thing. There are “rules” such as you should be 3 x the height of the screen away but it’s not a hard and fast rule. U can always get your projector and test the different sizes without getting the screen and then buy a size that your comfortable with just projecting on the wall.

      I really wanted a clean setup and didn't like the idea of big subs at the front or in the way at the back. There's all this wasted volume under the riser, why not? Plus it will out perform nearly anything on the market besides commercial applications. Which use folded tapped horns for concerts

    fWOW this guy really likes his HT sound bright/harsh.....Klipsch/Yammies/? And the reason why neighbours can hear him...i'm sure he hasn't treated his room inside or done any "sound proofing". :) Most people skip those 2 essential parts of a "proper HT build"...

    • @connorj6580
      @connorj6580 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not complete, no sound proofing but acoustic treatment is still happening. Yes I like bright sound, clear vocals is more important to me as often lacking. When complete the only Yamaha speakers left will be the atmos speakers, the surrounds were free and saved about 4k from the upfront setup but will be replaced in time. A home theatre is never complete and always open to improvement. If you were to hear it in reality rather than make judgements based on what you think it may sound like, you may agree that it's better than most out there. No its not a professional set up, this is a guy doing a hobby and learning as I go
