  • In this video Mattia and I go through his workflow for modeling Fender style guitar necks in Autodesk Fusion 360. Mattia Valente is an innovative and talented designer who has developed some of the best guitar models I have ever seen. He has helped this channel on numerous occasions when I have hit roadblocks, and I thought it would be great to get him on the channel.

Yes sir! The full meeting between Mattia and I was about an hour and half, I had to cut it down to the most important bits to make it manageable. But if you are interested in the unedited version, that goes into a bit more detail, its available on my Discord server.

"I can't believe you do all of this with a track pad." That's because you've not spent enough time with an Apple track pad. I've never found a Windows machine with a track pad that comes anywhere close to the Apple track pad. After 25 years of Windows usage (I am a software developer by trade), I switched to a MacBook Pro about 5 years ago. I've never felt the need to use a mouse on a Mac.. The trackpad just works. It's smooth and I do all of my work, including modeling in Fusion with it. There's some things that I still prefer about Windows, but Apple really got the trackpad right.

Why the aversion towards fit point splines? You can do the same things with less points, or am I wrong?

    Wow what a trackpad?
i told my best friend i was teaching, anyone who uses a trackpad in fusion is mental ahhahahaha
as much as i try i cant find the proper inputs to simulate the mouse at all, does Mattia rely on shortcuts for orbit and zoom?
