- Today we're going to model, texture and render this product in Blender. 3d modelling is a core skill which can earn you good money, by selling your services around the world on platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork, or just contact sellers on Amazon offering to render a model for them. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you every step on how I do it!
We're covering a lot today - modelling tips, modifiers, Booleans and hard surface modelling. You can also see how I texture the models and light with area lights before setting up the render.

Any reason why you never use the parts of the buttons that you cut out, rather than create all the separate buttons ?
In all honesty Mike - it's because I didn't think of it! It's a great idea - you would need to separate, scale on individual origins, but probably would have saved some time! Great thinking!! 👌😀

So I've been trying to learn Blender for like ever and am curious, barely 2min in and I'm wondering why I don't see any love for the Collection Manager addon included with Blender in tutorials or any Blender videos? just curious now back to the show.
It takes everyone a while to get used to new features in Blender, and implement them in their workflow! Maybe that's why you're not seeing much love for it??

Thanks for your idea! Animating the screen would actually be pretty easy. I would capture a video of the screen using OBS Studio (Free screen capture software) from the Teenage Engineering website. You could then just import the video, instead of the static image in Blender, and export as an animation. It wasn't quite clear to me how you applied the button graphics. Did you just adjust the image plane in the Z direction until the graphics were right on top of the button geometry? Or did you use the shrink wrap modifier? Your process went very fast. Great tutorial, thank you.
Thanks for your comment. Yes - you're right - the transparent image is simply placed exactly on top of the button geometry. I considered using a shrinkmap modifier, or mapping it onto the materials, but this was the quickest and easiest solution. Glad you enjoyed the tutorial otherwise! 😀

this is a great shortcut! but i don't think it would be too hard to unwrap those buttons and pop an image tex on to it, then you'd be able to add that lil bump on the numbrs@@MediaWayUKLtd

Haha - yes - it is kind of reverse engineering. When you put some time looking at the design, it really makes you appreciate the aesthetic! Let me know if you have any suggestions for other products to cover, as I'm likely to do more videos in this style! 😀

Man, you didn't even made correct knobs :) they are two-colored. Button sizes, screen side, etc - are totally missed, incorrect. No "earn good money" for that :)
Haha! Good spot! However, I was only working from one reference photo and didn't realise until after this video was published. If this was a commercial job, and not a tutorial, I would be using several references from different angles.
I would like to know why you call this a tutorial when you fast forwarding the video it makes no sence at all. perhaps a demonstration on how to model but not a tutorial.
I've only fast forwarded the parts which are repeats of what I've already shown - when you're following the tutorial, it will be obvious what to do, as I've already shown the steps I've taken. Let me know if there are bits you're unsure of?
Its not a beginner tutorial as you can see on title “pro” which on that stage its a wase of time if he not fast forward it🤷🏻♂️
