I still play X7 once in two whiles. I like the notion of using the iconic dash and wall jump abilities in a 3D environment. It could have been a decent game if it wasn't so slow, menus and everything. I still hope we get a proper, functional 3D X game in the future, unlikely as may be.
Nah 3D doesn't work for megaman x( though I would love to see legends 3 make a return). If they do they should make it like X8's 2.5D it would look better that way imo.

I remember this game being so damn hard that i felt like a god as a kid every timei beat a boss. MY first and only megaman game. Once i beat my first boss which took a while i really started to enjoy the game.
You should play the other X games if you can, they're much better, except X6 which is more or less as bad as this one. But what you think is up to you. There is also an RPG called Megaman X Command Mission if you're interested.
For me it was megaman 3 for the nes but same kinda thing. Game felt so hard as a kid and once i beat the first robot master thats when it all fell into place

All this time I've held off on playing X7 in the X 2nd collection because I wanted to 100% it for the Platinum on PS4, this video pops up, noice! I can now go into X7 with less fear! X is a hero in the game verse and in real live haha.

I still remember finding out about this game in a magazine. As a Mega Man fan, I was excited to play it one day only to be disappointed that it was entirely different from how a Megaman game used to be and super hard to play.
I personally never saw anything wrong with this game the combination of 2d/3d worked out pretty well while still being able to stay true to its side scroller roots, gameplay was solid. Graphics were more than decent, I thought the 2 man game they introduced being able to seamlessly swap characters mid game was absolute genius and very ‘futuristic-esque’ honestly. Levels were designed exceptionally well being extremely relative to their respective bosses who were entertaining if not that hard to beat so to say. Axl stole the show on this one being as bad ass as they come I mean let’s be real dual pistol copy cat reploid is too smooth. Player movement was responsive, dialogue was pretty forgivable and to top it all off their was some level of replay value due to it’s platforming and hidden reploids/items scattered around. Wasn’t the best but I give Megaman X7 an aggressive 8/10 gangsta!
@@DimbDumbDumb Personally I don't have a problem with X being an unlockable character, because the main protagonist of Tekken, Jin, was an unlockable character as well in Tekken 4 (I know it's a fighting game but still), it's just the way they handled his character and the gameplay being slow (Zero's moves for example), the menus being slow and obviously the bad voice acting ("BURN TO THE GROUND!!!").
It's not a bad game, but it is easily among the worst of all the Megaman games (of which, there's a ton.) It's second only to Megaman on DOS. I've beaten it to hell and back. The level design is pathetic, the controls tend to get hung up on jank and collision. The VA is on par with Zelda CD-i. And lastly, Axl has a cool moment or 2, but is easily the worst to play as. Big improvements with X8.

Boarski using X2's boss theme works too well, since he is pretty much a boss version of those road hogs in X2 (found in Overdrive Ostrich and X-Hunter Stage 1 IIRC). Also, X got so good his rank became an entire state. (42:02)

Back in those days, we have limited access to the internet. I played x4,x5,x6 and they were all awesome. When x7 released, i was very puzzled and thought the game sucked and never play a megaman again because i thought that was the direction we were going with ps2. God in heaven, this game is 1,000% less ear-bleedingly annoying when the voices are in Japanese. And to think I was upset as a kid because I put it on Japanese voices by accident and couldn't figure out how to put it back. I guess I was stupid in more ways than one back then.
Is there a list of music you used for this Playthrough of this game? This game was the 2nd Worse MMX game I've ever played. Still have the Strategy Guide for this game in case I play it again. Do know it's in the X Collection but haven't gotten it yet.
