  • From an early age, I was always interested in pattern and texture and would gather various papers, materials and photographic evidence of my discoveries whilst on journeys. It was when I was first introduced to Textiles as a young teenager, that I become fascinated by the interaction of dye with cloth. Through intervention, one can disturb the dyes natural course to produce an array of striking patterns. This began my journey exploring the process of Shibori, which sensitively records the process applied to the cloth to reveal a unique pattern or texture upon the cloth. I have recently employed digital printing within my work, forming an intriguing amalgamation of my photographs and pencil drawings.
I studied at Bath Spa University for a BA (Hons) Creative Arts and completed an MA Design: Textiles in 2004. I am a member of the Studio Seven collective and also teach Textiles at a secondary school in Ross-on-Wye.
