Thanks for this video - lots of functions I didn't know about until you showed them - like 1st-person camera mode using the keyboard (I was only using the mouse on Fleetview), and ground/skybox customization. I think Fleetview is a great tool for fleet planning, and for sharing and comparing fleets with friends. There are a lot of SC content creators who would also benefit from the tips in this video. I intend to have around 10 ships in my acct hangar by launch day, but I want to have 20-30 ships in my in-game hangar. Fleetview helps me visualize different fleet compositions and how I might grow my fleet when starting with a different set of ships.

Yeah, I totally agree. I was surprised by the level of functionality that FleetView offered. I thought this was going to be a quick and simple video, but the more I looked the more features I continued to find. I am glad this video helped you learn something new!

Is there any way to put small ships on say the Kraken or Liberator to see what fits?

This appears to be possible! You can enter custom layout with the [B] key which will let you drag the ships around. Then you can take your smaller ship hold the [CTRL] key while dragging up to raise the ship vertically. The combination of these two controls should allow you to place ships on the landing pads of ships like the Kraken or Liberator.
You can find information on all the different ship placement options available while in custom layout at 8:14 in the video.

    Finally, 3D jpeg

Haha, for now... yes. Though they have been releasing quite a few new ships recently like the Ares, Redeemer, 400i, Raft, Steel, and C2. Though, I agree that the larger ships will probably remain JPEGs until there is tech that supports them.
I'd be curious to see if anyone has done any analysis on the rate at which they release ships compared to new concepts... is the list of unreleased concepts growing, staying about the same, or shrinking?

@@lonnixlethe I have the feeling that they are producing more ships, there is still a lot of capitals left tho.

@@vidar6743 CIG is definitely going to keep producing more new ships for the foreseeable future in order to finance operations. Once the game is complete and launches, they might find other revenue streams like licensing their tech, but as long as people want to buy new ships, I think they'll keep selling us new ships.
