Howie Long is the man. Love Chris as well. Helped my favorite team win a SB. Funny enough my Dad is a Raiders fan and he got to see Howie win one with them. Also love Howie cause he's a Nova guy. Him and Brian Westbrook are the two biggest names to come out of their football program.

Bill Walsh is proof that winning is all that counts. You can make up the reason for it later & media will report it. Ignore Roger Craig running with knees & elbows knocking out tacklers, just keep saying the offense is about passing.
The answer to your question about knowing scores in the late 70s/early 80s was that there were phone services that provided somewhat up to date scores. I can’t remember how they charged you - I was 10-11, and I called them. Maybe commercials? They would talk slowly and they would update every 10-15 minutes at best.
In these day of diversity and inclusion I'm surprised that Jim Plunkett as the first Hispanic double super bowl winner; these awards flank his Heisman trophy too. What's not to like?
