Not sure what the Australian guy was saying but my boyfriend and I just came back from China and we were both able to link our credit cards to wechat with no issues on our first day there. Also, yes there are some hotels where you can’t stay if you are a foreigner. We didn’t know about life and travel in China before our trip, but we adored so much about our time there, mostly in Beijing. The friendly people, healthy culture, good values, beauty everywhere from the architecture to people’s outfits, trees and bikes on every big street… And the fruit and vegetables had more flavor than most of what we get in the US. I could keep going on. We have even been talking about how we could organize our lives to live there for a year or two. I actually cried in the airport! It was amazing to experience a happy, functioning society and I guess I didn’t want to leave. I felt way more aligned with the dominant culture and values that we experienced in China than I do with those in the US. As a society I don’t think we have much of either anymore. It feels funny to say, but the US seems so backwards compared to China. I can’t wait to go back and explore more!
Hum, my husband was in China last year and he also had difficulty making payments via Alipay and WeChat. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. I heard that many people have no problem making payments with both apps linked to an accidental credit card but it seems that this doesn't work for everyone. We don't know why.
Hi, maybe if you can, a video for foreign that don't speak chinese, how hard is to find a job and housing prices for example :) thanks. Amazing channel
